Am I crazy for thinking Vince should be in the hall?

  1. Wilfork is my favorite Patriot of all time (yes, even above Brady).

I need to know if my love for the big fella is skewing my thoughts on his HoF potential

  2. On paper, yes. He was the best and most influential NT during his era.

But when considering the HoF voting method, how do you vote for him over any five of Keuchly, Smith, Thomas, Allen, Gates, Yanda, Holt, Wayne, or Rodney?

  3. I wish he would get in but he’s probably hall of very good unfortunately. Pro football reference has his HOF monitor at 60.85, and average for a HOF DT is 102.36. Pretty unlikely based on that.

  4. I think there’s a lot of politics around who gets in right away. Not saying I agree with that but going with that standard I say Rodney now, Vinatieri next year, and Vince in a year or two.

  5. He absolutely should be in. Dominant DT who could have been an individual superstar if he played in a different system, but was always a team player first.

  6. Vinatieri, Gates, Reggie, Kuechly

I think that’s my “pick 4” here. What a difficult choice it will be this year

  7. I think he should, but like others have mentioned, there are a lot of players that should be in before him. Holt and Smith are still waiting.

  8. I have no clue. I Don’t know how to judge defensive tackles. I mean of course my initial impulses to say yes but it’s a harder position to judge than others.

  9. This list makes me feel old. What a bunch of ballers this year….damn

Vince is worth making it. Belichick even said he’s the best NT ever and Belichick knows more about football than me so I’m in.

  10. Big Man Vince pushed the lineman back who Sanchez bumps into for the Butt Fumble.

He’s an integral part of one of the greatest plays in the history of the game. He deserves to be in the Hall.

  11. He should be, his only problem is he played a position that didn’t get stats. Nose tackle is a thankless job where you did a good job by making 2 people block you and if you’re lucky you’ll end the game with 3 tackles with one for a loss and every 5th game you get a 1/2 sack. But god damn he was amazing at exactly that job

  12. It’s wild when you think about the gap of chances to get in for Wilfork and Gilmore.

I don’t consider them wildly different tiers of players, but Gilmore’s chances are much higher.  Kinda sad.

  13. I’ve always thought it was a pity that there wasn’t a stat for “pockets collapsed”, that Vince would’ve absolutely dominated – maybe award it like sacks and tackles where you can also award half credit lol

  14. He was a dominant player on the greatest dynasty in NFL history, the only player besides Brady who bridges both halves of the dynasty, he was arguably the best player at his position throughout his career, like, I genuinely don’t understand how Vince Wilfork is not a HOFer. It should be a no brainer.

If the criteria for the NFL HOF doesn’t think Vince fucking Wilfork should be a HOFer then they need to change their criteria.
