Should the Braves sign Tanner Scott as addition to Bullpen?
The Atlanta Braves have some uncertainty surrounding the bullpen entering the 2024 season, with Joe Jimenez likely missing the entirety of the year. Plus – it is uncertain when AJ Minter will return as well. Not to mention, Jesse Chavez may or may not come back to Atlanta this season.
Left handed relievers already came at a premium for the Braves last season, and we’ve already seen the Braves lock up Aaron Bummer, could this be setting up well for the Braves to go all in on Tanner Scott?
The Braves have had a lot of games facing off against Tanner Scott, during his time with Miami. The Southpaw was an All-Star in 2024, and could provide a steadiness that Atlanta’s Bullpen has needed for some time now.

Should be interesting to see what happens
Yes
Raisel Iglesias is making $16mil next year. Iglesias made $10mil in 2022, and $16mi in 23'/24'/25'.
“Should’ve “
Arcia has more holes than Swiss Cheese
Would be great to get Tanner Scott.
Although AA has shown he's willing to spend money on the bullpen, Scott is looking to a get closer role and $$
The Braves already have Iggy. Who's making $16M
Atlanta has 4 locks for their 2025 bullpen. Iglesias, Johnson, Bummer and Lee
They'll have several options on the 40 man roster and in Triple A
Of course ATL wants to know the medicals on his hip injury & surgery, re-signing A.J. Minter is a no-brainer. I think he either stays in ATL or signs w/ a Texas team.
In no order here are some of the best relievers other than Scott on the free agent market:
Jeff Hoffman
Blake Trieinen
Clay Holmes
Kirby Yates
Kenley Jansen
Carlos Estevez
Andrew Kitteridge
Jose Leclerc
David Robertson
Chris Martin
Can't forget about possible trades. After all, that's how they got Johnson, Bummer and Jimenez.
A couple that could be available
Devin Williams
Ryan Helsley
Peter Fairbanks
Ryan Pressly
David Bednar
Do you think we lose reliever potential in the system by trading so-so starters early? For an organization that develops a lot of pitching, we seem to look at the market a lot. Maybe we just turn them loose, and see what happens, then resign them later, I dunno.
Solidifying the bullpen will help greatly if the starting rotation is iffy on what we might/might not have…I hate seeing Max leave, I hope he stays. It's gonna be a busy offseason for the Braves.
What is the estimated return time for Strider?
This might be Minter won't be back.
AA loves to spend $$$ on the bullpen; can never have enough arms
