Hot take what Hubie has done with his longevity is more impressive than Bron/Steph/KD. He is NINETY years old. He was born before World War II and the FM radio. Absolute titan, legend of the game

Always appreciated Hubie. Dude is probably the oldest announcer out there but very rarely gets on his soap box about how things used to be. It’s admirable how he’s remained knowledgeable and appreciative of the modern game even though it must be quite different than the one he first fell in love with.

Hubie has always been, and still is, a tremendous broadcaster.
If only we had a way to Altered Carbon him into Doris Burke’s body
Now here’s a guy who deserves one more game. I mean here he is, 91 years old, his passion for the game never died. You gotta give him some credit, will ya? Legend

I wouldn’t want to make a man his age work on Christmas…. but if he WANTS to work on Christmas, he deserves nothing less than Christmas. The matchup of his choosing.
My favorite part about Hubie is that he never ranted about the modern game or whatever, he just appreciates all of the eras and stars as they come and go.
As a young person, my favorite moment from him was honestly the game two of the Raptors-Cavs 2018 series that he did color on alongside Mark Jones. Both of them were working off one another really well.
Favorite nba broadcaster ever. Can always tell he loved the game and explained what was going on in layman terms. No dumb catchphrases or trying to create drama.
Now, the thing you like about Hubie is that even at his age he’s still clear of thought, and communicates very well

Damn man this blows. I know Hubie is extremely old now but he taught me so much about basketball over the years. It’s gonna be so sad when he’s no longer with us. As much as I hate the Celtics I really miss Tommy too. Clyde is getting up there in age too. All the goats that I grew up listening to are slowly fazing out of the game and it fucking sucks man.
It feels like when we took the whiskey from my grandpa. Didn’t end well, but it ended…

Love his commentary. Particularly when he sees players make bad plays, he’s not afraid to point it out, just like a disappointed grandpa. Truly someone who’s passionate about the game
The man was so good. He would give such great and insightful analysis and not just play for a storyline
This guy is an absolute marvel. Grew up playing before the NBA existed, coached Oscar Robertson, Kareem, Louie Dampier, Patrick Ewing, Pau Gasol and more. Still doing work in the broadcast booth
