The Calgary Hitmen have acquired Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Tanner Howe from the Regina Pats in exchange for defenceman Reese Hamilton, forward Keets Fawcett, and two picks in the WHL Prospects Draft. (Nothing changes in regards to his NHL rights).

  1. This is great for Howe and great for the Penguins. He gets to be on a competitive team which is going help his development even more. I believe he is eligible to play in the AHL next season, as he’s in his fourth Jr. year.

I think Howe was a sneaky pick. There was a lot of assumptions that his stat line was purely a product of Bedard but he ended up dominating on his own last season. Appears to be on a big start this year too. Just look at what the Hitmen gave up for him.
