They won’t do either.
Do I get a vote? Remove!
Just demolish it
I wish I could find a seat from the Dome to buy.
Dude I haven’t lived in the H since I saw them START to tear down astroworld and I remember around that time they THOUGHT they had the means to save and renovate it. How many times we on now?
We had a study and a vote before, more than once on the study IIRC. One of the main reasons I voted against the previous County Judge, Ed Emmett, was his decision to ignore the outcome of the vote.
Isn’t this something they do like 4-5 years and then end up not doing anything since they don’t want to spend any money on it?
Just remove it. It’s in a part of town where no one wants to go other than to see the Texans play. It’s a shitty part of town with zero attractions. Just remove it.
My first (and many more) MLB baseball game was in that building. My first NFL football game. Saw Hank Jr and many others perform in there.
General admission tickets for $1, the smell, the bright green field that captured your eyes the moment you could see it, the list goes on…so many great memories of my parents, grandparents etc, I am getting a little emotional just thinking about it.
All that said, just implode the damn thing, its the memories I cherish, not the building.
Here we go again
I’m just kinda sick of hearing about it.
I don’t want it to go, but I also don’t want it to just sit and rot. I want it repurposed, but I’d rather it just be torn down than watch it become a dilapidated mess eventually collapsing on its own because Houstonians have their heads stuck in their asses over spending money.
We’ll invest $5 billion into a terrible rail system because *SuPeR BoWl*, but we won’t invest any money into repurposing an iconic building.
But we also won’t invest any money into tearing it down…
This wishy-washy shit makes the whole city look stupid. Make a decision. Pull the fuckin trigger.
This is a repeat from last year and every year for the past 10 years.
Just take it out to a farm and let it roam free
I’m a 90s kid. I have very fond memories of Astros games, Oiler games, and the Rodeo at the Dome. That said… blow the damn thing up already.
