[ESPN New York] Do the New York Jets need to blow it up? Rex Ryan doesn’t think so.

  1. He’s interested is what that means.

I don’t think Rex is a great idea but I think it will happen and I just hope it works out.

  2. People saying he’ll change the culture need to remember the absolute circus our team was toward the end of his tenure. This would be such a dumb move.

  3. People forget how bad of a coach he actually is. Add in the fact he hasn’t coached in this league in like a decade. Yeah bad idea.

  4. i think it could work. but someone had commented on here before about it and i completely agree… bring Rex back but there better be a young, hot hungry, modern man of an OC right behind him. lmao.

  5. Let Rex coach for Rodgers’ final season next year.

    We have nothing to lose.

Then when it implodes, we can flush the entire organization and start fresh with (another) rookie QB and (more) new management in 2026 when the rookie pool is stronger

  6. I would probably take the year off if they bring Rex back. It’s a Gase level hiring on the stupidity scale.

  7. I had enough of sexy Rexy. Even the first two years when they made the playoffs and looked dominant because the defense I couldn’t take him telling everybody they’re gonna win the Super Bowl every year it was just don’t want to relive that over for the next few years. He’s a good commentator and analyst stick to that.

  8. I used to think bringing Rex back was the worst idea ever, but they’ve tried just about every other way and still screwed it up, so you might as well be entertained.

  9. Please no. People forget how bad the end of his tenure was and how his offenses were never great. He also had a complete disaster in Buffalo and hasn’t coached in the NFL in like 8 years whatever it is. The Jets cannot make this mistake, they need a new face.

  10. I agree with Rex. The team does not need to be blown up. He really should get a second chance with the Jets.

  11. The ultimate Jet move. To make us the laughing stock of all laughing stocks. It’s almost so crazy of an idea that it’s actually going to happen. What did I do in my past life to be a fan of this team man

  12. Outdated defense Rex? Couldn’t replace the aging talent Rex? I like Rex I really do but I think we damn near worship him because of how bad we’ve been. Let’s sign an offensive HC instead for once (Adam gase was a fraud)

  13. I mean, he’s right. This team is stacked with talent. I just don’t understand why literally everyone (basically excluding Morstead) has performed like utter shit. I guess the only logical explanation is Woody’s meddling which trickles down into coaching. I feel like with a an actual, PROPER fucking coaching staff, the narrative this year would have been a lot different. But because Woody is who he is, we don’t *have* an actual coaching staff, and that reflects in the players. Besides, all the news of his hands in the business doesn’t help with shit either.

  14. Honestly next year is a wash anyway barring a really hot coaching candidate wanting to come here, and I don’t see that happening. I’d be down to give Sexy Rexy a one year shot, then blow it up if he doesn’t show he’s grown as a coach. We have Rodgers for next year so, unless he retires, we aren’t entering an immediate rebuild as it is. If we’re gonna suck, I wanna have a coach I can root for at least.

  15. Lol please, rex was a disaster here too. The only reason he looked good was he piggy backed off what Mangini built for those first two years.
