Joey Votto sells Cincinnati home for $2.75M, was previously owned by Bengals player
November 22, 2024
This doesn't bode well for him staying with the team at least for now.

“Staying with the team”
I have some bad news about the last offseason…
That was never in the cards.
As a fan, I love Votto but what do I care if he stays with the team? You mean as a coach or something?
I could see him still doing something like Sean Casey re being a guest analyst.
One thing is for sure, he’s not joining Cincinnati front office after what the front office did to him.
he isnt going to keep a $2.75 mil home for a part time gig in any case.
So where is Votto moving ?
The guy is independantly wealthy but his income / earning potential has arguably peaked. His living situation matching that reality seems prudent and wise financial decisions aren’t necessarily good or bad news for Votto and his role with the team.
Nothing stopping him from living where he wants in the offseason and downsizing or renting in Cincinnati during the days he’s being paid to be there.
Nice place and all, but does this dude just like never watch TV?
I installed security in that house when he bought it. It’s pretty cool that he lived there as long as he did.
Votto has always been inscrutable when it comes to his personal life, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he wanted to take a few years and do nothing with baseball.
