As a Brit I haven't watched any snow games in full before but I couldn't sleep last night and I am a browns fan so stayed up, it was cinema.

I fucking love Jameis, I've seen a snow game on NFL Throwback where I think LeSean McCoy had some CRAZY WORK in one

  1. I was at the ‘Snow Game’ in Buffalo you are mentioning. Not to one up the game from last night but ours was way more wild. For the first quarter we were in complete white out conditions. You could not see the field from the stands. They had the guys out there with leaf blowers and they just gave up as it did no good. It settled down in the second quarter in the sense that the white out subsided but the snow kept coming in serious accumulation.

By the end of the game the snow was easily a foot deep plus in the stands and less so on the field as they somewhat got a hold of things when they plowed it a bit at half time.

I remember being miserable in the stands as the weather was just an omnipresent. Damp, cold and miserable.

We ran the ball pretty well with Shady McCoy and then that great final break away run in OT was like heaven for the fans. The snowballs, the happy atmosphere, everything. I’m a season ticket holder and have easily been to over 50 games in my lifetime. At half time I was miserable and just wanted to leave. By the end of the game I looked at my brother and said ‘This is the best game I’ve ever been to in my life.’ and I still think that to this day. It was so unique, fun and memorable.

Just an absolute gem of a day and game.

Edit – After watching the YouTube link I had no recollection of it being a Nathan Peterman game, but then again I couldn’t see that far.

  2. Imo any game where there is more at play then just player skill (environmental factors usually) adds an extra element of excitement. It makes even the most mundane plays must watch. It’s like when you get unexpected rain in an F1 Grand Prix and suddenly teams in the midfield are fighting for a podium.

  3. The GOAT of snow games was the GOAT himself, Tom Brady. You got the infamous tuck rule game and the 59-0 beatdown of Titans in snow games that instantly comes to mind but he was just so good at winning in cold weather games. I remember whenever I turned on a game and saw player’s breathe in the cold air I was like “Yep, they’re winning today”. His record tracks to, something like 35-8 in games in below freezing temperatures. People might say it’s because he played in Foxborough for most of his career but he could win anywhere it was cold with notable wins at Arrowhead vs Mahomes in an AFC championship game and at Lambeau vs Rodgers in an NFC championship game. Dude had ice in his veins foreals.

  4. I know I’m in the minority but I hate snow games. I don’t want games decided on who the best “mudder” is. I want to see who the best team is.

  5. The Snow Bowl. Eagles vs Lions here in Philly. Most fun I’ve ever had watching the Birds outside of SB LII. Shady went absolutely nuts.

  6. Love weather games. They’re gnarly, unpredictable, and when it’s a rivalry game it’s that much better

  7. Bill vs Patriots 2021.

It was so cold snowy, the patriots ran the ball all 4 downs NO MATTER WHAT. The patriots QB only threw the ball 3 times, for 19 yards. 0 punts.

  8. I remember when 6’7″ of snow fell on Buffalo. I saw a meme of Nick Chubb scoring a touchdown and it was all snow.

  9. Belichick, his understanding of how different weather conditions affected the game and how to prepare for them.

He is also one of the few coaches that will hold practice in crap weather. Instead of using a field training dome or a gym.

  10. Thats fucking football right there. None of that pansy ass dick tugging smile for the camera bullshit. Men freeze, men get trench foot on the field, men get their toes amputated on the side lines. Fucking hard core icicle in the ass iceball foosball freeze it steeze it game time shit. Football is back, baby
