Jonathan India and Joey Wiemer to Royals for Brady Singer

  1. I actually really like this deal. It’s not THE move. But it’s a good one. I’ll miss Indy, though. The guy was just a ball player.

  2. Holy shit they did it.

This is probably a great move but man am I gonna miss India. He gave this team so much heart.

  3. Hot. Damn. The new Reds are not fucking around. India gone feels like a demarcation point. You know they asked Tito too.

  4. Like it.  They can vie for best rotation in the division.  And they’ve cleared up the clutter in the infield some.

    Now go fix the outfield.

  5. Heart says it sucks, head knows it’s a good move. Singer is really solid, does quite a bit to boost the rotation. I like it. And I hate it.

  6. Wow. Helps rotation and helps clear up logjam on the infield. I like India, wish him well, but baseball is a business and this move makes business sense.

  7. For anyone wondering how Singer may do in GABP, he had a top 10 ground ball in mlb last year.  Should be a good fit.

  8. Good move for the reds! With the amount of injuries we deal with at SP we needed this but I understand the love for India

  9. How could you not like Jonathan India? But the Reds would be foolish to keep him compared to Singer. Hope the trade is a win for both sides and he finds that rookie season form at the plate again

  10. India is a casualty of the logjam of infielders we have. He is also the best trade piece we had and they turned it into a solid starter. It sucks but all in all this made the team better on paper. McLain gets his chance to take the reins and be who we think he can.

  11. Only wish the best for India and hope he thrives in KC. Kinda wild that it finally happened after two years of will they won’t they.

  12. WHAT A FUCKING TRADE

This solidifies our rotation as Greene, Singer, Lodolo, Abbott, Lowder and has Nick Martinez/Ashcraft as our back ups and leaves us with money to spend on a big outfielder.

Reds making big moves in November is huge

  13. Had the opportunity to be around India a lot in person. Great dude, and hope he dominates Cleveland for us in the AL central.

  14. I knew India’s time was short but I’m more bummed about weimer I was excited to see him in cincy… why couldn’t they have shipped off Benson instead?

  15. Well, there’s my favorite Red gone. Glad I never talked myself into buying the jersey.

I understand the trade, but I’m disappointed nonetheless.

  16. I think this is a good trade. Singer isn’t a top of rotation arm, but India was not an elite hitter or fielder. We traded a good, solid starter for a good, solid starter.

And we threw in Wiemer, who couldn’t even touch the major league roster last season when we had real problems in the outfield. So I’m not even really considering that much of a loss.

  17. As a Reds fan living in KC, I’m happy I’ll still be able to see India-but deep down I kinda wish he was a Red still. Hope Singer makes me eat my words though.

  18. Holy shit. Well they finally did it.

Now there’s 2 more moves at least that they HAVE to make.

    1. A right handed power bat in the outfield. At least high average.

    2. A back up catcher, obviously

I mean if they are serious about winning this year they have to go take the money they have left and get these guys. The catcher will be peanuts but just once I wish they’d pick up a guy that isn’t a prove it contract. They need a bonafide, established guy that actually is an outfielder.

If the other guy’s are healthy I will feel pretty good about the roster. They have to fill these glaring holes though.

  19. Singers stats from 2024 suggest he’s a solid #2. Ranked 30-45th in pretty much every category. Most importantly he’s durable 30 starts on average the last 4 years!
