[Russini]: Aaron Rodgers still wants to play in 2025 but not for the Jets

  1. Our QB situation is so doomed.

I know he’s not that popular amongst NFL fans (or Jets fans) but he’s been good for most of the session. If he’s gone we’re in QB limbo yet again

  2. This may be true, but it all sounds to me that there someone in the org that wants to broker a divorce between the Jets and Rodgers with the recent comments that honestly make no sense.

  3. I honestly think he still can play, due think a lot of it is because of him getting hurt sometime around the Denver/Minnesota game and the after effects of his age and Achilles injury. I can’t bet that it would turn around for him next yr though because of his age and we don’t need his overbearing presence with a new coach/gm. I hate how bad this has turned, so frustrating

  4. And we traded draft picks for him and Davante. So our next gm is hamstrung with less picks while trying to build a team. The jets gm s are always trying to win now and yet they never do it, at least in my lifetime, born after 69 here.

  5. The Jets really outdid themselves on the “same old Jets” rhetoric this time its honestly quite impressive with how bad this has gone

  6. I don’t know that any of the QBs in this draft class will a) fall to our pick and b) be good enough to lead a franchise. Could easily be wrong but as much as Rodgers hasn’t lived up to expectations, he’s still been mostly serviceable. Pretty sure PFF has him as a top 10 graded QB this year.

I’d rather keep him for one more year as a bridge QB and try this all again with a completely new coaching staff and front office, and then worry about QBs in 2026. But who knows, we all know whatever we do will end up being the wrong decision anyway

  7. Where was this energy for Zach Wilson??? Dude cost the jets 2 playoff runs. Daniel Jones might’ve been good enough to get us to the playoffs in 22 and 23.

  8. Good. Take the dead cap hit and restart. Dudes a loser and doesn’t care about being the leader we needed him to be.

  9. all this sounds like crazy speculation.. Davante didn’t come here for Rodgers to be cut mid season or next year.. whom ever is planting these rumors is looking to break Rodgers and the Jets up and my bet is on camp JD.. all this sounds like childish banter from a disgruntled ex employee.. water cooler talk by someone who lacks accountability and integrity and that to me sounds like JD.. it’s this kind or rumor shit that makes it very difficult for us to land quality coaches and players, no football player wants to deal with this type of shit, it’s a major distraction and takes away from the game.. this all sounds like political nonsense..

As fans we should condemn this rumor shit loudly if we want to build a quality organization, we can’t be suckers to buy into this rumor shit because it has consequences on the types of players and coaches we want in our building.. we shouldn’t be an echo chamber for these rumors, we won’t draw any quality talent..

  10. It’s comical at this point. The saddest part is I don’t really believe we’ll learn from this

  11. This feels like regular Jets idiocy combined with Rodgers being an absolute prima Donna. Been a Jets fan for 20 years but I kinda feel like Rodgers and Woody deserve each other. Is that a weird thought as a fan?

  12. Do you guys remember the first home game of the season against the Pats?

That felt good. Only for things to get so much worse after 😔

  13. I get it. I still want to play hockey and do freestyle BMX riding. But I’m old and knew it was time to stop.

  14. Lol this has turned out as bad as possible, and exactly how just about everyone outside of the Jets figured it would. Classic Jets disaster. I don’t know what it’ll take to turn this franchise around. It’s truly the most difficult thing to do in all of sports.

  15. We are the second rock bottom phase of our history. The first was the Kotite debacle. We did get Parcells after that disaster. Are we poised for the second coming of a savior?

  16. You guys really believing Russini, who Rodgers has called out personally in the past?

Lol most gullible fanbase on the planet

  17. All you can do is laugh. I knew we would somehow find a way to fuck up while having the best roster we’ve had in my lifetime, but the way these two years have played out was *still* beyond my wildest imagination. I will never get my hopes up for the New York Jets again while Woody still owns the team.

  18. Come in, demand everything, get your way on everything, make outlandish promises, then have a worse win percentage than Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold. The Jets didn’t have to do any of this and are just as culpable, but man, fuck Aaron Rodgers

  19. 2038: After a disastrous season with the Jets, Jordan Love is released and goes to the Vikings with no compensation back, where he instantly reverts to All-Pro caliber play. Jets ownership mulls giving Rex Ryan his third shot at head coach.

  20. It’s funny I didn’t think this was going to work or go well and it wound up being worse than I imagined. Good luck to him finding a new owner that absolutely bows down to him.

  21. I know how this story goes. He’s going to lead another team to at least the conference championship next season.
