  1. I can't stand how they've handled Slaf this year.

They dropped him down to play with Dach in hopes of getting him going. It didn't work… So PUT HIM BACK ON THE 1ST LINE!

In my opinion, he was not a 3rd wheel on the 1st line. He made amazing plays on the 1st PP with Suzuki and Caufield.

  2. Thinking about it, having 2 sub-par performing goaltenders in year 3 of a promissing rebuild is best case scenario.

It teaches the young guys to win by themselves without the help of a star goaltender (no cheating). And they have the opportunity to develop mental fortitude by losing a few games when they are not performing at their best or when they give low efforts.

It gives us more losses while still having a decent offense going on for the fans and it will yield a better first round pick at the draft.

Once you finally get above average goaltending, the team will shoot out like a bottle rocket and we can truly be "in the mix" for a good while.

I think that the powers that be know this very well and they are happy with how this season is going, I think that their strategy is unfolding near perfectly.

  3. and just think, 12 days ago the homers were ready to plan the parade because we beat 3 awful teams. Now Slaf is a 4th liner, making his wishlist for his new salary next year, Dach is atrocious and Armia/Dvorak continue to escape benchings and scratches.

  4. Laine is a good addition to this squad no doubt. He is not the missing piece we need though. We need a #2 Center with size and faceoff dominance. That is our single biggest hole that we don't really have the prospect to fill other than maybe Hage.
We need to fill the center hole if we want to win consistently. Until then we will keep spinning our wheels.
