Justin Crawford, Alec Bohm Mentioned in Garrett Crochet Trade Talks

  1. This comes from Bob Nightengale

“…(the Phillies) have been shopping outfielder Nick Castellanos for nearly two years and now are making third baseman Alec Bohm available.
They have spoken about Bohm and outfield prospect Justin Crawford in extensive trade talks with the Chicago White Sox for starter Garrett Crochet, but the White Sox are concerned with Bohm’s struggles the second half, posting a .681 OPS with just four home runs.

If the Phillies trade Bohm, they are expected to make a strong play for Alex Bregman, whose talent and personality would fit in perfectly with the team, or perhaps sign Willy Adames and move him over to third base.

The Phillies are starting to age with their best and highest-paid players in their 30s and catcher J.T. Realmuto in the final season of his five-year, $115.5 million contract.”

  2. Crawford is an interesting one to throw out there. I’d hope painter and Miller are completely off limits.

  3. I’m honestly going to stroke out if they pay for a guy who is 30 and a tad better than Bohm. And then give up our big OF prospect for a high risk pitcher. You know what’s been a real issue for us? The outfield. Not the starting pitching. But I get it. Crawford could be a bust.

  4. Ok with trading Bohm but I don’t want to part with Crawford, Miller or Painter. Those three I think can be stars. I would try to hold onto Caba out of curiosity too.

  5. I don’t see how adding Crochet is what we need unless they are moving Ranger for a batter. Starting pitching isn’t our issue it’s been not having a consistent hitter

  6. With Painter coming back, this team does not need to be trading top prospects for pitchers.

    They need BATS!

    I do not like Dombrowski.

  7. I don’t understand, yea he had a rough going in the second half and in the postseason but so did JT, Marsh, Stott, and Turner. Yet no one complains about them.

I like Bohm and glad he showed emotion, all the other guys would strikeout or ground out in the playoffs and go back to the dugout and smile with their teammates. I get it’s the vibes but what has that gotten us the last two years…. Nothing. He was legit an all star and because he had two rough months we’re getting rid of him. He’s young, cheap and still decent… why would we sign bregman.

Stick with him for another year and see how he does then

  8. Isn’t this the guy who said I’m not going to the bullpen if traded to a contender? Fuck this clown, that’s the attitude you don’t want.

  9. Upside alone would make Bohm and Crawford for crochet a steal even if he’s not necessarily filling a hole we need

  10. I wouldn’t give up Crawford for a guy that’ll need an innings limit at that point it’s Painter time

  11. Wait, the Phils have been trying to unload Casty for nearly two years? I never picked up on that one.

  12. Do it. This team needs a wake up call. I was fine with them “running it back” last year, but now it’s sacrificial lamb season.

  13. Amazing what immaturity and sulking on the bench can do to a player. Bohm is going from one team close to winning 100 games to another that has lost over 100 games. You think he wasn’t happy before? Give him a few months on the White Sox.

  14. The white Sox would laugh us out of the building with that offer. A mediocre 3B and a middle-teir outfield prospect for one of the most coveted arms on the market? Why would they ever accept that? I’d happily give up anyone but painter for a proven pre-arb player

  15. We need arms. Crochet or Snell great for our ballpark. When we get to the postseason if our bats are as ice cold as this year it won’t matter.
But if the bats are hot next time around we cannot continue with Wheeler, Ranger and Nola.
