I dunno how anyone can bet on this stuff. That game was over at 4-0 and someone up high decided that it wasn’t over and here we are. That was nonsense

Both games against Tampa this year had bullshit officiating like that. Last game, Tampa hacked at the Leafs goalie, a scrum broke out, and they took 2 Leafs and gave Tampa a full 2 minute 5-on-3. Game management is real.

That 3rd goal by the lightning looked to me like it had a bit of a kicking motion. Atkinson tried to do it again right before Nylander scored and the kick was a lot more obvious… this isn’t soccer!
I would absolutely love it if someone on the Leafs (player/coach/management) could just roast the fuck outta the reffing for once in the post game interview. If Florida is in our position and OEL does that little scrum cross-check while playing for them, he NEVER gets put in the box in that situation.
What would the league do to retaliate for calling them out? Tell the refs to stop giving us our deserved powerplays? Give the other team powerplays when they don’t deserve them? They already fucking do that! Best sport in the world, worst league ever.

Credit where credit is due. The Bolts absolutely killed the final stretch of this game even without the refs. Leafs got out worked greatly towards the end there, and that needs to be fixed.
The game management in the third was stupid, but the Leafs should be embarrassed to get outworked that badly in the third with Tampa on a back-to-back.

I am having more and more trouble understanding goals that go in off of skates. Like how was the puck not directly and purposefully directed into the net by Atkinsons skate?
Here’s my biggest takeaway. The late goals against that made it close would have broken last year’s team, and the last 6 or 7 years for that matter.
They were never scrambling and never looked out of sorts, even while allowing 3 goals within ten minutes. And willy was calm, cool and collected as he controlled the puck and buried the empty netter.
