Lovie was a great defensive coordinator but a horrible head coach
I don’t miss him at all.
Flus was an attempt to bring back some of what worked under lovie, same philosophy and everything. He was just all the bad of lovie without any of the good.
The Bears spared Flus having a worse record than John Fox
I don’t miss Lovie. That constant clueless gaze at the scoreboard drove me nuts.
Lovie also got us Caleb…so thanks for that!
Now post Lovie’s record after leaving the Bears.
Lovie was washed up. He couldn’t run an offense and the league adapted to the Tampa 2 defense. The only reason he lasted as long was the condition that the incoming GM couldn’t fire Smith during his first year.
Our coaches since Lovie have been shit AND Lovie is retroactively overrated in the fan bases memory. Both can be true
I still remember getting the notification that he was fired. I couldn’t believe. I get the playoffs and Super Bowl is the end goal but he truly was our guy, and it was a sad way to end his tenure
Nagy had almost as many playoff appearances in half the time I don’t miss mediocrity I want success.
81 wins with one coach. 75 wins with four coaches combined since … what an utter disaster …
When mediocre is good enough…
I SB *appearance*
Stupid firing. Beyond.
Lovie sucked too if we’re being honest
The first few years of Lovie and Angelo were great. It was all down hill after Jerry traded Thomas Jones away.
It’s crazy to me that Nagy is not looking so bad now.
The common denominator is George. What a goof? I love all the talk about Bears tradition. Under George, the tradition is losing and the lowering of the franchise’s overall value.
It’s like we went out our way to hire God awful head coaches after Lovie got binned.
One winning season since 2012, even Washington and Cleveland have more (2)
God. We actually had 65 Nagy games.
Damn, Nagy record better than I remember
Funny this sub used to vilify the man.
Lovie had the 3rd most wins and a 7th highest wining percentage of all BEARS coaches.
With this current team he would likely be on a Super Bowl hunt.
Lovie got too powerful with the players. That’s why he had to go. The ownership needs to remind people who’s in charge
Without Lovie making the call for 2 in Houston, there’s no way Caleb and DJ are in Chicago right now. There’s also the very good chance that Lovie would’ve retired by now and Illinois doesn’t have Beilima. I’ll take the 2 OL/1 DE away from elite over a slow decline and middling ’10s decade of Division round losses.
Lol no
I’ve seen enough of the cover 2 defense. So tired of seeing third and long getting converted.
🤣 no, “we all” don’t.
Not all of us. Firing Lovie was the right move, hiring Trestman wasn’t.
I think if Tommie Harris and Mike Brown were healthy, Joseph Addai wouldn’t have ran all over us….
Lol, while I understand the point of this, it’s a little wild to call out Lovies playoff appearances while not calling out Nagys.
The picture of John Fox is classic Bears
Given how Lovie did at Illinois…not sure the Bears really missed out on much. That dude was checked out.
Something for the Steelers/49ers/Rams/Ravens/Eagles fans to remember when they get frustrated and yell “FIRE [HEADCOACH].” HC carousel seems almost as hard as the QB carousel….
Add in Jauron and Wannstedt and 2/7 coaches since Ditka have a winning record
Yeah but I don’t miss “Rex is our quarterback.”
I feel like our next coach will also be a miss, but who knows.

Come on! Give Nagy his playoff appearance!
One super bowl *appearance* for Lovie.
I don’t miss Lovie, I miss winning.
