No surprise, they say Trevor slid late and having all this onus in the defense to protect QBs is unfair. Crazy how almost everyone who actually played/plays in the NFL and have that same opinion, but I’m sure the folks over on r/NFL are so much more qualified to talk about why Azeez should be banned than anyone who actually played in the league🙄

  1. Tom Brady, Richard Sherman, Franklin, Speed, Arik fucking Armstead…

But nah, the NFL flairs and jag flairs are the experts

  2. The defenders know that NFL put them in an impossible position where they need to be more concerned about opposing teams’ running QBs safety than these QBs themselves!

  3. Now tell Zaire to weigh in on the fact his coach played a QB that needed surgery even before this game.

  4. I think if they had just given him one game suspension most people wouldn’t still be adding two cents and defending him. It’s not the penalty or even the suspension that’s ruffled so many feathers. It was the first suspension being 3 games and not accepting the appeal and putting out a statement criticizing his character that really upset most of the former players I think.

  5. I think leading with the elbow under the chin was a step too far. That and him refusing to leave, IMO, justified a one game suspension. 3 is insane to me.

  6. All we need is Dan Campbell to weigh in, say exactly what everyone else is saying, and all of a sudden r/nfl will start acting like they agreed with them all this whole time.

  7. My take from this is that if put in the same situation, Speed is getting ejected/suspended, and Zaire is getting flagged at worst.

Speed lives on the edge like Azeez, and I suspect that mentality is probably 50/50 among LBs in the league.

I understand the fines/suspensions, but gamemanship on safety rules is BS. They should get penalized for taking advantage and leave everything else in place. Azeez should still get fine/suspended (in this scenario), but fake/late sliding should be penalized.
