With punter Michael Dickson dealing with a back injury that took him out of last week’s game, the Seahawks added punter Ty Zentner to their practice squad on Friday.
Tackle Jason Peters was placed on practice squad injured reserve to make room for Zentner.
Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that there was optimism that Dickson would be able to make it back this week after he was unable to punt late in Sunday’s win over the Jets due to back spasms. But the addition of Zentner gives the Seahawks another option if Dickson is unable to play.
Zentner, who went undrafted out of Kansas State last year, has appeared in 10 games over the past two seasons for the Texans, Titans and Rams, averaging 44.1 yards per punt with 13 of 45 punts downed inside the 20.
