    It was the California Golden Seals in the NHL. It would have been the Tampa Bay Mutiny in the MLS but they have been declared on permanent Hiatus since 2002. And in the NLL there are a two teams on hiatus and two more that have been absorbed by other teams or moved the rights to another city as an expansion team.

    1: If I’m paying a guy 23 mil a year I would have wanted better than Severino, as a Mets fan he has little dominance when he’s pitching he just slowly work the at bat till he can get an out and he wasn’t good in the playoffs.

    2:Why even sign him, he might add a few wins but if they are gonna be bad why not be awful get some good prospects and call em up in Vegas.

    3: Why sign a guy now, they are playing in a minor league ball park nobody is gonna show up unless some future hall of Famers are playing against the A’s just wait a few year till you are in your new stadium and then make a splash to sell tickets.

    Why move stadiums: Ik it’s a bad stadium and attendance would probably be roughly similar but this is truly severing any ties with A’s fan who would have been willing to support the Vegas team.

    MLB please force this man to sell the team he is a joke to the sport and to the people, money all used to mean something it was a way for Small teams to compete without bankruptcy now it is just a way for owners to profit from the media right deals and sell their players when the team is too good, this man is a embarrassment to the sport.

41. It’s a 2-yr deal with a player option. Though I’d be surprised if Severino didn’t wind up exercising that option with his history of not staying healthy. He also was given a $10 mil signing bonus.

    I don’t under this deal at all. It’s not long enough to be a part of the A’s revival that’s for sure. I guess iTalk has a point that it’s just a carrot to dangle at potential patrons to get them to show up in Sacramento this coming season.
