The Minnesota Vikings and quarterback Sam Darnold have NOT had any long-term contract negotiations yet, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Darnold is having a Pro Bowl-caliber season, but the Vikings do have JJ McCarthy in place for the future.

JJMc is the QB of the future… they'll sign Danny Dimes to a 1 yr contract for 2025. Tag&Trade Sam for draft capital… then Tag&Trade DJ in 2026 for draft picks and sign another QB project. This will be the Vikings "side hustle" to gain draft capital.
