Andrey Rublev is currently looking ahead to a brighter 2025 season, having ended his 2024 campaign with three losses at the ATP Finals.
Rublev wants to play better at the net, with the Russian looking to get back to his very best, having once reached number five in the rankings.
But Rublev can still be happy with his efforts this year, where he won two titles and finished eighth in the ATP Tour rankings.
He did, however, fall well short in his Grand Slam pursuits, with the 27-year-old once again failing to make it beyond the quarter-finals.
Rublev reached that stage at the 2024 Australian Open, before falling in the third, first and fourth rounds at the French Open, Wimbledon and US Open respectively.

He will now be eyeing much better runs in 2025, but worryingly Novak Djokovic will prioritise Grand Slams next year.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion has hired Andy Murray in a bid to add more titles to his honours list, with Rublev now sharing his thoughts on that partnership.
“I think, in my case, I don’t care,” he told the Tennis Weekly Podcast. “I had no reaction at all. I think it’s going to be fun. Then I don’t know.

“Novak is one of the best players who has ever played, so I don’t know if Andy can give him something but for sure the good thing is that they are good friends.
“Sometimes the energy gives even more at this level. Players like Novak know everything, they know this sport better than anyone.
“The energy in that kind of points makes a huge difference. If they are good friends it can be something new.
“Maybe Novak will feel more fresh again and more pumped, which is not good for the rest of the players!”

What Andrey Rublev is excited to see between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray

The duo certainly know each other well, with Rublev also aware of their talents having met both players throughout their impressive careers.

He is among a huge group to have felt the full force of Djokovic, with the Serbian boasting a 5-1 head-to-head record over the Russian.
But Rublev had more luck against Murray before his retirement in August, with the former winning two of their three meetings.
Given his close-up experiences with both players, the current world number eight is excited to see their relationship play out, with Rublev adding: It’s going to be fun, because I would like to see Andy now.
“He was this kind of player who would like to give not good comments to his team and I would like to see if Novak will give him some not nice comments, because Novak can be sometimes emotional. So I would like to see how Murray would feel at that moment!”
