Why do some fans want Jon Gruden to return?

  1. This post doesn’t make me upset with gruden, it just makes me sad in general. If you’re gonna try and flame gruden, pick something else. This is more of a testament to the organization as a whole and the absolutely tragic road we’ve come down.

  2. Ahhh what fun times when we got rid of Musgrave and thought we were going to “unlock” the offense

  3. That initial 4-win 2018 season is going to skew the data as the offense struggled to get up to speed at first.

By 2020, the offense was firing on all cylinders. People are fond of forgetting that.

Hey, I believe in Gruden. He’s a hell of a coach and one with vision and the will to imprint a team with an identity.

I know a lot of my fellow Raider fans don’t like him, but I think he’d do well if given another chance. It probably won’t happen, but I’d be happy if it does.

  4. well I mean he did completely retool the team and cut everyone so the first two years the PPG was understandably terrible. Gruden haters are kinda retarded tbh
The Raiders averaged 27.1 ppg 10th in 2020

  5. Because our last 21 games with him as the coach, the team averaged 26 ppg and Carr looked as good as he has since snapping his leg. That he averaged 21.1 with the 2018 team counted is pretty awesome.

  6. Because they’re brain dead & relate to his
fake tough guy act along with his views on women and gay people. All that posturing about *EXECUTION* and *NIGHTMARES* just to kick a field goal every drive and keep Limp Dick Derek employed over Brady and Gronk lmao

  7. Because the AFP had to dig into the past to control the current/future narrative at the cost of a working man and organization.

But the world is healing from the nonsense of cancel culture. RIP: 2020-2025, you loons had a good run.

  8. The Raiders right now are an organization that is stuck trying to catch lightning in a bottle. That is to say, they can only hope to hire young, up and coming coaches that haven’t made much noise yet (or tired retreads) because well-established names don’t view the Raiders as an ideal landing spot. Which is fair.

Mark Davis has not made good decisions, the home stadium is nice but plays host to many opposing teams’ fans, and as a longtime fan I’ve got say that the mystique that used to define this franchise has been watered down by decades of incompetence and irrelevance.

That said, Jon Gruden is a disgrace to the Raiders and I hope he never comes back in any role.

  9. idk why we’re rewriting history in the comments. i remember a lot of people wanted musgrave fired at the time. also let’s not forget the year after 2016 where we still had most of our roster and even added a few pieces we sucked with JDR… that and the locker room thing led to him being fired lmao

  10. Now do yards. Carr is god awful in the red zone. Our offense under Gruden was solid. Pg and that defense killed us.

  11. Because he almost got the team to a Super Bowl in 2001, and some fans think that will translate to a winning season in 2025.

Brace yourselves. Another rebuild is coming.
