Jim is joined by Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette to recap Day 3 of the 2024 MLB Winter Meetings. It was reported today by Noah that the Pirates have made Mitch Keller and Jared Jones available recently this offseason. What exactly does this mean for the team and does the Luis Ortiz trade change anything? Also, Noah discusses the story he beat Jeff Passan on – Elvis Alvarado signing a split deal with the Pirates, the Rule 5 Draft today, a Hunter Stratton update, and his thoughts on the Spencer Horwitz trade.

Simply get payroll to 100+ and buy bats with money
jump to the worst case scenario? This management team has not proven capable of getting good value in trades. In fact this management group should have been fired at the end of the season and a competent group put in place. SELL the TEAM BOB! If you have good pitching you can win games. Spend some money and pick up some hitters.. oh and get better coaches too.
This franchise is a dumpster fire. Fans need to stop supporting this incompetent owner.
They gave up too much for Horwitz. I have no problem trading Keller but they need to get a much better return. I wouldn't trade Jones unless they are just overwhelmed.
I think we are acting like they have so much pitching depth. Right now to start the season you have skenes, Jones, Keller, falter and then who? Chandler, burrows, Oviedo, Ashcraft and Harrington are either not proven or ready yet. Oviedo is just coming off of TJ so I wouldn’t expect much from him. If you keep trading pitchers it becomes a weakness real quick. Just go spend some money and get an outfielder, veteran starter and 2-3 bullpen arms.
