Nick Kyrgios is set to return to tennis in 2025, having spent almost two years out of the sport through injury.
Australia’s controversial star is getting ready to return to the ATP Tour in the new year, having not played in two years.
Kyrgios has struggled with injury for the past few years, as he underwent both wrist and knee surgeries, playing just a singular match in 2023.

The former world number 13 has enjoyed his time on the sidelines, as Kyrgios spent time commentating in 2024, giving his thoughts on his fellow tennis stars.
He’s getting closer to full fitness ahead of 2025, as Kyrgios is set to return at the Brisbane International which begins on December 30.
Ahead of his return, Kyrgios has looked back on his finest-ever week, at Wimbledon in 2022.
Piers Morgan tells Nick Kyrgios fans would’ve turned in his favour if he’d won Wimbledon in 2022
Speaking on Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios, the former Australian number one looked back upon his 2022 Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic with British journalist Piers Morgan and asked him a very interesting question.
“On the topic of Wimbledon, that year I made it to the final,” he said.
“I was very aware of some of the things that were being said and the UK press was saying this was the worst thing to happen to Wimbledon.
“If I had won that year, what do you think some of the articles would have been?”
Morgan told Kyrgios that the public perception of him would’ve turned on its head had he brought home the title.

“Honestly, they would have all turned,” he said.
“You would have turned it around.
“If you had won, all that angst and fury and passion that was whirling inside you because you were so desperate to win.
“In that moment of victory you’d have become this guy.”
Kyrgios still thinks he may have had some choice words for the British press.
“Maybe,” he said.
“Or maybe I would have been like say something now Piers Morgan!”

Morgan then reiterated his opinion that the British fans would’ve sided with the Aussie star, if he’d come out on top against Djokovic.
“I suspect in that moment of victory a lot of that angst would have gone and you would have been Mr Charming Nick and you’d have charmed everybody and everybody would have cheered you,” he said.
How close was Nick Kyrgios to winning Wimbledon in 2022?
Kyrgios came up short against Djokovic in the Wimbledon final 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-7, in his only Grand Slam final to date.
Unbeaten at Wimbledon since his retirement against Tomas Berdych in 2017, Djokovic was a formidable opponent, but not one that the Australian feared.
The 29-year-old stormed into the lead, taking the first set 6-4, as his clinical serving put him just two sets away from a Grand Slam title.
Djokovic took the second, before Kyrgios wowed fans with his famed trickery, as he won an excellent ‘fake underarm serve’ point in the third set.
It wasn’t enough, however, as Djokovic edged out into a 2-1 lead before the Serb clinched his seventh Wimbledon crown in a fourth set tiebreaker.
Kyrgios was enjoying a great season in 2022 and looked to build off his Wimbledon result at the US Open later that year.
Having qualified for the last eight in a field with no previous Grand Slam champions, the in-form Aussie was a strong favorite for the title.
It wasn’t to be, however, as he fell in a five-set classic to Russia’s Karen Khachanov before Carlos Alcaraz took down Casper Ruud in the final to win his first Major title.
Kyrgios hasn’t appeared at a Grand Slam tournament since but will be hoping to finally get his hands on a trophy, as he prepares for the Australian Open which begins on January 12.
