While I know he wasn’t everyone’s favorite, I grew up a big Daric Barton fan. I played first base as a kid and he was just somebody I liked. His 2010 in particular was really good. He’s personally been super nice to me in the past, conversing with me over social media and even allowing me to interview him for a baseball podcast I’ve done. I’ve always wanted his jersey but could never find it. It’s been IMPOSSIBLE. Today I turned 23 and when I woke up my wife had this hanging up for me. I don’t know if she got it custom made, if it’s a majestic bootleg, or whatever it is but the fact that she got it for me totally made my day. Just felt like sharing!

Two of my son’s favorite players when he was little were Kurt Suzuki and Daric Barton.
When he was little, we were getting post-warmup fistbumps from the team in the first row and when he got to us, Daric pulled his twisted necklace off his neck and gave it to my son. There’s also a picture of when he met him at the Hegenberger Mariott for a signing at a postgame Townsend radio show.
So Daric will always have a special place in my heart, along with all the other special memories I have of the team.
