5. I wish you had some Pens rumors. The Yzerplan is a made up myth.

9. It's going to take a few years to straighten out my Red Wings. The coach, if he doesn't get fired, his contract is up once this season ends. As far as the veterans go, there's a few that won't be resigned after this season. That'll open roster space for a few more rookies. The Red Wings will not make the playoffs next year (2025/2026 season). Once that season is over, all of those bad contracts will expire. This will usher in the "Yzerplan 2.0". I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the 2.0 version. I absolutely hate that it's taken this long. Unfortunately I'm not in control of it.

10. Detroit’s core is Raymond, Cossa, ASP and Seider. Everyone older than those players should be shipped out, included Larkin and Cat. Sell early this season and get a top three pick. Someone steal Yzerman’s phone so he doesn’t sign any other bums in FA over the summer and be bad next year too. Hope for some draft lottery luck and get McKennna in 2026.

    That’s the path. Not trying to plug holes in free agency. This team is somehow at the cap limit, yet terrible at the same time. And Yzerman has really never used that cap space to take bad deals from other teams for assets, instead he just burns his own space on guys like Chiarot and Holl.

11. If the Sabres make a move , they really have to get it right this time. They may be better off sucking one or two more years

15. The Red Wings need a Brendan Shanahan-type player for the same infusion of grit and determination he brought to that great team that was captained by Yzerman. Larkin is a great leader but something is missing on this team. I think Dylan will retire as a Red Wing if he chooses.

21. Detroit simply needs a number 1 centre who can win faceoffs…When you look at every team at the bottom of the league they are using second-line centres as a number 1 center and it doesn't work. Without that strength down the middle you can't expect the wingers to fill the net. Bump Larkin to number 2 centre and then get some more tenacity in their lineup….The also need to give Veleno the ball and let him run with it. They are too careful with him

22. If it wasnt for Talbot, we would be bottom of the league. 6 years into the rebuild, and here we are. Throw Lalonde in a dumpster full of piss, can’t stand that guy any longer.

    My Panthers need one more decent defensemen, Balinskis isn’t going to cut it.

24. I don't know that the Yzerplan is failing. I don't think we've really seen his vision for what he wants the team to be yet. He's drafted a lot of good young players, and now is just kind of a holding pattern with aging vets until the kids develop more. That being said, this roster is abysmally constructed right now, and Lalonde has been terrible. His system doesn't fit with the players he has. I think Yzerman needs a few more seasons to really see his vision unfold, but I don't care for the strategy of being mediocre and trying to push for the playoffs while his draft picks are still developing. Had rather play the younger guys at the NHL level and be bad than get a bunch of aging guys that still make a ton of mistakes and can't play defense to try to look like he's trying to get to the playoffs. One thing is for certain though, Lalonde has got to go. I was advocating for that to happen after an absolutely lifeless game they had against Buffalo on March 12 last season.

25. You don’t seem to remember these two things state Holland left the red wings in , the cupboards went bare , there was nothing in them . Yzerman said he was building through the draft and it was a process . Everyone that Steve has drafted that is in the show is either excelling or the best on the team .
