  8. Okay so obviously the Panthers game was more Florida playing bad then us playing good. Idk how you can justify the road vs home performance like Tocc needs to give some serious answers that aren’t just nothing fluff because no one should be paying for tickets to this crap. If we don’t pull out some serious defensive upgrades out of our ass in the near future this team might squeek into the playoffs but is getting swept first round.

  10. Hughes had a better game as it went on but it felt like he was trying to do everything himself even more. Forcing plays that weren’t there.

    Not all goals were on Demko but that fifth one (wraparound) eugh he should’ve had. Looks like he didn’t want to overextend his body.

    They just looked all over the place. Vs Florida they were so in sync with their positioning and even foreseeing what the play was gonna be but tonight they looked completely lost and one step behind.

  11. Rutherford hinting at a new Lankinen deal is very interesting. Between that and the acknowledgement of some trades that need to happen, they’re for sure cooking something up. Gotta feel like we’re bound for an announcement relatively soon, no?

  13. Chock it up as a flu game and forget about it unless they repeat the performance next game. Hopefully fans take it as a lesson to not overreact to results (good or bad), but judging by the comments in this thread Ima guess we won’t

    On a side note I kinda wish our sub allowed pics/gifs in comments to break up the doom and gloom, always cracks me up checking other teams’ PGTs after their losses

I really don’t get it on why these guys just don’t give a fuck, like they go out there and they act like this is just going to be a walk in the park, I am honestly waiting for toch to lay the hammer down but he never has, I am not sure what to say anymore except these guys need to get hammered in the fucking head

  15. Jim Rutherford himself just said that we are not a playoff team with the record we have at home. So for the proclamation we shouldn’t be worried because we’re in a playoff spot, It’s not a valid excuse.

  16. The three biggest things from Rutherford for me:

    1. “we need a few more players to give ourselves a chance…”

    2. On Boeser: understand that player and agent have one opinion, but we’ll see if it fits Jim’s.

    3. Lankinin: very much a possibility for next season. You could tell they’re already thinking about keeping Lankinin.

  19. My reasons for worry after watching this game:  

    1. JT Miller’s body language. I don’t care to know what his personal issue was, but his demeanor made it look like he didn’t have any confidence. 

    2. Petey is back in invisible mode. Despite getting points lately, I still haven’t seen an 11 million player.  We saw one tonight in Pastrnak. 

    3. The team has very little confidence in Friedman and Brainstorm. They were continually taken advantage of, we pretty much couldn’t play them.  

    We are in a good position record-wise, but our team looks to have massive holes on the back end.  Soucy was back to his early season blunders today.  

    Demko was below average too, but I’m not worried about him long term, he’ll come around.  

    It would take a massive deal for a top 4 dman to fix this roster, and I’m not even sure it’s worth it this year.

  24. I love this team, but I’m baffled at how we can look like a legitimate contender one game and then whatever this is the next.

  31. Not gonna lie – Tocchet sounds super despondent in the press conference. I’m wondering if something is going on at the club. Something doesn’t quite seem right.

    If i wanted to watch a team dump the puck and ring it around the boards and do fuck all with it i would watch a bantam team. This is fucking bullshit.

    Edit: Thats a fucking home game against the fucking BRUINS on HNIC and you come out and fucking play a fucking AHL game THAT YOU WOULD LOSE, and charge people fucking hundreds of dollars to watch. Im sorry, if i paid that kind of money for that kind of game I would be fucking pissed.

    Edit 2: I have tickets to the January 3 game against the Predators. And now i am worried that my “fun night at the hockey game” is going to be this fucking dog shit.

  38. Anyone else think that we should’ve eased Demko back with a conditioning stint in Abby before fully bringing him back?

    You definitely can’t fault him for the losses as the team in general has played poorly, but I bet it would’ve helped his confidence greatly if he was given a couple low pressure games to get back to game speed.

  41. Jim mentioned that this game they didn’t have a practice the day before, and they’ve had other games where they didn’t have practices the day before either.

    A day off… on a Saturday. The day before you’re playing a team coming off 13-2 against in two games looking for a rebound game.

    Who thought this was a good idea? :/

    They were un-prepared and it showed.

  44. Sasson has been super impressive. He’s definitely got some skills and he seems to find some decent space when he has the puck.

  45. It’s Saturday…a home game…been waiting for the whole day…for a garbage game. No one showed up…slow af…the only silver lining is Sasson preventing us from being completely shutout on home ice.

  46. I know this game wasn’t Demko’s fault, but I feel more comfortable with Lankinen in net. He bails out our trash defence most nights b/c that’s the only way we’re winning games right now, being always out shot.
