Nate Danielson with the shoutout winner for the Griffins last night

  1. I’ve been super impressed with Kasper so far and he looks more and more like a legit middle six center. He’s able to drive play a lot more than I was expecting from him, which is really cool to see.

Seeing Danielson progress as well gives me a lot of hope for our center depth behind Larkin going forward.

I think Compher is much better suited as a 3C and using Copp as more of a utility guy will hopefully be more of a reality soon.

  2. I realize a lot of this remains to be seen but Max Plante is currently scoring at around the same rate (or better) than Larkin did in the NCAA at the same age. He seems like found money. So that’s Danielson, Plante, Kasper, and Finnie as the top centers on the farm. I’m excluding Lombardi because I think he’ll end up on the wing in the NHL. That’s REALLY good. Remember a couple years ago when dorks like Scott Wheeler panned the Wings’ draft picks and thought we needed more flashy midgets on our roster like Buffalo has? Is there a single Wings that would rather have Matt Savoie than Kasper or Zach Benson than Danielson at this point?
