Last night’s game had very familiar similarities to this Monday Night game. At the time, Seattle still had something to prove that they were legit contenders.
Last night’s game had the same feeling. A chance to prove yourself and establish yourself. You would’ve thought that the team winning 4 consecutive games in a row, the stadium would be full of Seahawks fans. Absolutely not. The crowd was full of sellout Packer fans.
Season tickets are now apparently just passive income for Seahawks fans. That’s cool I guess, lord knows CoL is too high. Not sure I’m going to watch another home game though, hard to watch your team getting cheered against in their own stadium.
Inflation wasn’t raging back then………………………………………………………………………………… but also f those folks in secondary market…………………………………………………………………………………………
Those were the days… Its been going downhill for years but last night was just depressing.
I wonder how many season ticket holders are just people looking to make a buck and are not even fans of the team. I feel like it has to be a pretty high percentage at this point.
At some point this team will capture the cultural imagination of Seattle again and we’ll have this again, but it’s definitely a low period.
By this point in last night’s game, we were down 7-0, did nothing on our possession, and were about to see another 80 yard TD drive.
Doesn’t matter if it’s 80/20 crowd ratio, with nothing for Hawks fans to cheer about, you’re going to hear the opposing fans.
This was my first Seahawks game. Treated myself for my 19th bday. Place was shaking when this happened.
I was at this game. Good times
I was at that game. Waaaay up in the cheap seats.
Pretty sure that was the game where there was a Guinness representative, because we were going to be the loudest crowd ever.
Two times in that game, I had no idea what the hell happened, but one of our dudes was in the end zone, it was loud, so I figured I was supposed to be happy.
CHILLS!!!!
Every time the announcers mention that it’s impressive for a team to come into Seattle and play well I get sad because it’s not very impressive anymore
I was at that game in the same seat I was in for last nights game. In 2013 we knew everyone around us. Now we only know the folks to our immediate left. The group behind us sells their tickets for every premier game. They even brought their buddy to the preseason game and explained how they make back 120% of their investment on tickets and still get to go to 2/3 a year themselves. When they are there, if you’re standing up they’ll tap you on the shoulder and ask you to sit down so they can watch the game.
The real issue is that the Seahawks shit the bed.
I was there. The fans were rolling pregame. It was loud. But then the Packers scored 2 TDs in 2 drives and took the entire first quarter off the clock. Then Geno got hurt and everyone at the game knew it was over. And this year, the Seahawks have played like ass at home.
That kind of “home field advantage” is only reserved for teams that earn it. It’s that way across any league and any sport. Packers have bandwagon fans everywhere in the country, so it’s no surprise they are in the stands.
Find a clip of this kind of “home field advantage the Seahawks used to have” in a regular season game when they are down 3 scores with a backup QB
Those days are gone
Yeah, this makes me very sad. I was at this game
I don’t think it’s purely the price as everyone is saying. Not even counting inflation, resale ticket prices are relatively the same or even cheaper compared to 2013-2016.
I remember splurging for 2 nosebleed tickets for $600 total for the final home game against the Rams in 2012. People were standing up the entire time we’re on defense, high-fiving after every TD, ears ringing after Sherm’s game-sealing INT, and losing my voice after the game. Ticket prices skyrocketed even higher when we won the Super Bowl.
I didn’t get to attend any game since then until 2021 when we played the Jags and Russ was on IR, got club tickets for $60 each. But everyone sat the whole time and the atmosphere was like a Tuesday Mariners game.
I think the change is partly because we’re mid now. Yes I know we had the win streak, but it seems there just isn’t as much excitement as in the LOB days. We used to never lose by more than 1 score, now it’s a coin flip whether we get blown out or not in our losses.
I knew they were going to win it all that year as I was watching that game. Like the ambience and atmosphere and electricity could be felt in my living room. I’m pretty sure there was like 5 false starts in a row at one point if I remember correctly.
Seahawks have a losing record at home in the 2020s. While I wish we still had a loyal fan base of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, ticket prices are now obscene and the product is below average
That’s the reality. If fans thought we wouldn’t get humiliated on national TV they would be less likely to sell
I hope someday Seattle becomes a place for the middle class again. Is it the tech bros or something else? Who knows.
I’d love to go to games but can’t justify over 1k to take the family to the 300 section. Not only that but there is a good chance that our team gets whooped and the environment feels like an away game. Depressing.
Good old days. Last nights games against the packers was pretty rough. Me and a buddy got some reasonably priced tickets and there were times during the game that the Packers fans were definitely noticeable. We looked like a college team playing an NFL team last night.
Nah no one cares about the saints. Packers have an actual fan baseb
Fuck me
fuck you ticketmaster
I was at this game, one of my favorite memories.
I was at last nights game and the fail Mary game and can confirm there were a ton of packers fans at the fail Mary game too, however last night seemed like a lot more. Green Bay looked really good last night, I think they are peaking at the right time and can give a lot of teams problems
I was told it was because the product was shit earlier in the year. Does that mean Seahawks fans will only come out for a 13-3 juggernaut? Because an 8-5 team on a 4-game winning streak playing a pivotal playoff match-up is exactly the enticing product any fanbase should get up for.
Granted it’s not 95% of Seahawks fans’ fault; it’s the 5% that can actually afford to go to games who don’t give a shit about the sport or team. The awesome home field advantage is stuck at their actual homes or the bar.
So the last time the stadium was loud was the last time the hawks were good? Crazy how that works
What a time to be alive this was.
People are traveling and the thing to do these days is resell at 5 times the price like houses with 0% interest. Just another lame corndog money grab
Excessively horny on the celebration
God that team was so fucking fun to watch.
Saints fan here. We’ve had the exact same issues, we haven’t had a real home field advantage since Brees left. It’s really disheartening to see and I feel like it has a snowball effect where it makes me want to go to the games less myself.
Also, f y’all for always having our number in the 2010s. I remember thinking if only we could make the Seahawks come down to the dome we could beat you, but we always seemed to have to play in Seattle. Maybe one day we can both get our home fields back and finally play in a big game in NOLA
TAKE ME BACK
I was at this game and it ruined all future games for me
Bro, that block at the end by #20 was fucking beautiful!!!
I think there’s some confusion on this thread around fan noise. Lots of noise when Hawks are on defense, good. Fans noise to a minimum when Hawks are on offense, also good. The issue is when, after two unanswered TDs the Packers fans started shouting Go Pack Go when the Seahawks had the ball when ideally the stadium would be quiet.
Last night, walking through the crowd down by the pro shop, Packers fans were yelling Go Pack Go – loudly. Someone then yelled Sea, and I was legitimately the only person to yell Hawks back. It was embarrassing, and I am genuinely disappointed in the fan base. I go to at least one game every year, and you can tell our home field advantage is basically gone.

I know the 12th man was always there [even when we were awful,](https://www.seahawks.net/threads/1989-nfl-noise-rule-for-fans-how-we-ended-it.179335/) but it seems sustained success in the recent past has changed the standards.
