Jasmine Paolini has been tipped for a solid 2025 season by Rennae Stubbs.

The Italian was one of the surprises of the 2024 campaign and she established herself as a top 10 player and reached two Grand Slam finals.

Similar to her compatriot Jannik Sinner who has dominated the ATP Tour over the last 12 months, Paolini developed a newfound confidence and belief in her abilities.

She heads into 2025 with plenty of momentum and ready to compete for the biggest titles once again with an impressive all-court game, according to Rennae Stubbs.

Jasmine Paolini began 2024 ranked number 29 and ended the year ranked at career-high of number four.

She produced some outstanding results and reached a level of consistency she had not previously attained in her career.

The Italian achieved some of the best moments of her career when she reached the French Open and Wimbledon finals and claimed the Olympic women’s doubles gold medal alongside Sara Errani.

Like many, Stubbs has been very impressed with Paolini’s progress and sees her remaining in WTA Tour’s top 10 throughout 2025.

“I think she understands she probably has a window of about three or four years to really capitalise on her age, on her experience and how well she plays,” Stubbs said on the self-titled Rennae Stubbs podcast.

“It gets harder when you get to your mid 30’s. She is at an age right now where 28 is really starting to be in her prime. I think she will be in the top 10 for sure throughout the entire year next year.”

Paolini’s consistency and varied play has earned her a spot among the WTA’s elite and she looks set to remain in the top 10 for some time.

Stubbs credited the World number four for having an all-court game, and saved particular praise for her serve, which some may see as a slight weakness for Paolini due to her height.

She averages just 97.3 miles per hour first serve speed. However, 22% of Paolini’s first serves went unreturned in 2024, up from her previous average of 20%.

“I just think she is a true all-court player. She can come to the net, she has good volleys, she is looking to move forward and she doesn’t have a weakness,” Stubbs added.

“There is not a weakness in her game. She literally can hit every shot. She doesn’t get free points on her serve but for someone who is so small her serve is great. Her second serve is not overly attackable.

“I think the only thing that is going to stop her is if she plays against a player who overpowers her slightly but I see her doing great on clay, there is no surface she can’t play on.”
