The damn disrespect
People still pay attention to this?
Sounds about right based on the last 10 or so games
They’re 4-5-1 in their last 10. I’m sure Moneypuck ranked them #1 when they deserved it.
More like PhoneyPuck
yeah weve had just about the 18th best record the past 10 games, these are power rankings
People need to chill.
This is quantitative analysis that undervalues a generational talent at goal. The reason for this is that for *every other team*, goaltending cannot be relied upon season-to-season. It makes sense.
Hellebuyck breaks the chart because he’s the once-in-a-generation talent that gets it done year in and year out.
That said, for Helle it’s all about what happens in the playoffs.
Sounds right to me. Jets have looked like a wild card team with great goaltending.
Jets will do as good as they play, not as good as some chart says they are. Personally I think not getting enough respect from other sources is likely good for having them play with a bit of a chip on their shoulder and to prove their doubters wrong.
I have no problems with the team flying under the radar.
Well to be fair they have looked a lot closer to #18 then #1 the last 6 weeks so…….
Another reason why this org has ascended beyond analytics and now follows the teachings of Stanalytics
They also have hellebuyck as the number 1 goalie. I think that’s a pretty telling tale especially with how we’ve been playing lately.
last 10 games id say its accurate enough. its not how you start, its how you finish
Money puck doesn’t account for goalies very well. The assume avg goaltending gor all teams IRC
Ah yes, the #20 place in the league Philadelphia Flyers who have lost 4 of their 6 while allowing 23 goals over those games are certainly better than the #1 place Winnipeg Jets who have won 4 of their past 6 (and getting points in 5 of 6) while scoring 22 goals.
Makes perfect sense…
for some reason money puck assumes every team has the exact same goalie so they’ll all average the save sv% ands gaa
Seems about accurate considering how they’ve played lately.
