Love this so much. Go Birds.
The only 1/2 I can think of that I wouldn’t trust them to shut down is AJ and Smitty
Love slay. I know he’s getting up there in age but he’s been more than serviceable and love the mentor aspect to the rookies.
Gotta think that Q is just soaking up any and all knowledge that slay is giving him. Only helping him be more of a lockdown corner
Always gonna love Slay, one of my all time favourite players and Eagles.
Props to Slay for being a positive influence on the young guys. And he’s playing at a higher level himself than I might have expected at this point in his career. Kinda can’t believe we have this stacked of a secondary.
Slay, no ego?
Yeah ok lol
That’s what happens when we get a veteran who’s embraced his mentorship role and a young guy hungry to learn from said veteran
It’s so rare for the veteran to mentor his replacement. It’s such a cut throat league and your opportunity make money is so small that players rightfully get defensive when the new kid comes in.
It’s a testament to Slays character that he has handled this so well. It’s a testament to his skill and determination that he is playing so well in addition to this.
Quintanimo Slay
Love this, but “no ego” is a stretch for Slay. 😂
He means there’s no ego getting in the way of Slay mentoring Q. They both want to teach and learn from each other. They obviously have massive egos they are cornerbacks.
This sounds like they both have lots of ego lol. Love it though, it’s how it should be!
For everyone questioning the “no ego” comment – I assume he means that they don’t have any negative ego and/or that they don’t display any selfishnesh/diva-ism when it comes to working with/for the team and learning/mentoring each other.
Slay is likely one of the reasons Mitchell is so good. From the start of the season, he’s been clear that in addition to making plays, it’s his responsibility to help the next generation of DBs.
The way Q ran in that scrum to help slay that’s his guy. Loved seeing the whole defense get in there to defend their captain.
Honestly same sort of thing can be said for Kelce and Cam Jurgens the past few years. Obviously not fun to lose Kelce this offseason but our O line is doing very well and you know some of that is because of Kelce’s mentorship
Great pics and shows how important vets are to rookie development
I gave Slay some shit for showing his age out there this year…but he’s still an absolute DAWG with a lot of skill.
I’d be happy to have him retire with us, and I still think he could be a vet role/coach for incoming DBs.
I’m as biased as they come but we may have the greatest mentoring culture in the league I love it.
Imagine if Darius slay wasted his entire career in that shithole Detroit.
I believe Quintonomos first pick is gonna come in the Superbowl to add some sprinkles on top of an ALL-PRO rookie season.
I’m pretty sure there was a tweet slay responded to after q was drafted. I think someone tweeted at him saying the eagles drafted his replacement. And slay responded saying it was his responsibility to coach q up to be his replacement.
Imagine a young Slay with Q ouuiiiiii
This is your reminder to vote these two for the pro bowl. Half of our players that deserve to be in there are getting shafted
I do appreciate mentor Slay. Q learning from a great one for sure
Slay has been my favorite DB since Jenkins left. Great leadership, great teacher, and he’s still a hell of a player. He’s easily at least a top 64 CB in the league right now, and I’d be surprised if he isn’t top 32.
