The Best and Worst Moments of 2024 | PHT

  1. The best moment of the year for me was our series vs the Nationals. Profars walkoff, The drama, Manny’s revenge, Profars grand slam. Absolute magic.

The worst was our last 2 games vs the Deferrals.

  2. The best moment for me was Jackson Merrill. Just Jackson Merrill. He’s a living breathing moment. He went from “holy fuck what are we doing putting a 20 year old rookie with like 50 at bats above A-ball into a new position and starting him in MLB there, we could ruin him” to crashing the superstar/co-captain conversation in seemingly record time. Everything from his performance to his confidence and positive attitude absolutely set the tone for the team.

The second, despite the playoff disappointment, was Tatis Jr turning into an absolute maniac during the playoffs. It was like he was seeing the ball at 1/4 speed at the plate. He and Merrill were really the only ones hitting for most of it.

  3. This season was so exhausting.
It truly felt guys were giving their all and would be so pissed when we gave up a big lead making those euphoric walk-offs that much sweeter.
When we had the Dodgers to their last game I really thought this might be our year, which is crazy since we didn’t even have an outfield a couple months before the year.

  4. Worst moment for me(aside from losing to the doyers) was the Kim situation. I was hoping he would have a great year, with an improved bat and maintaining his defensive prowess coming off of a gold glove year where he was nominated for both SS and utility GG. His defense suffered, his bat regressed, and to top it off, he ends the season with a labrum tear. Not only did he not earn or seek a contract here with SD, we didn’t get anything for him trade wise when we could have. Then he becomes a boras client and walks. I wish him the best of luck, but he was truly loved here in SD, and I doubt he will find that level of support anywhere else. I mean people were chanting his name even when he was slumping. His future looks shaky, coming off the labrum tear and a subpar year, but I hope he can find a good home. Id really hate to see him land in LA or SF.
