New York Yankees trade for Cubs OF Cody Bellinger as former MVP’s career takes another turn

  1. It’s a business, as they say, and with the Tucker deal done, Cody is expendable. I hope his production returns to a good level. Maybe with that short porch in right, he’ll do well…

  2. So let’s recap: After losing Soto to the Mets. They signed Max Fried to a long term deal, traded for Williams from the Brewcrew, and traded for Belli from the Cubbies.

I wonder if Yankee fans will be content after these moves even though they lost Soto. Personally, I love these moves by the Yankees. They are addressing so many needs. Now go get Bregman and lets run it back with the Dodgers again!

  3. So, a declining OF asset for a back-end starter who’s hitting 30 and has had a TJ. Well, that’s earthshaking.

  4. Bellinger had produced a WAR of 7.6 over his last five seasons and 550 games. Less than in his MVP season.

$52 mil for two years isn’t gonna break the Yankees.

  5. Seeing an objective post/comment on this sub about anything Yankees related is like finding blueberries in the snow.

  6. A trade of the Codys.

(Also, I don’t know much about Poteet… what is the thought process for Hoyer on this besides needing relief help)
