[Barry Jackson] One of the bizarre things of all this — as Shams keeps double and tripling down by repeatedly discussing Jimmy’s “preferred destinations” — is I have never seen so many reports of “preferred destinations” for a player who hasn’t asked to be traded.

  1. Tell you what man win lose or tie, I’m just happy to be a part of the Dade family 😎 Jimmy G. Buckets a Heat lifa thru and thru and that ain’t gonna change any time soon 💯 3054L babay 🔥

  2. Anyone with half a brain knows jimmy’s camp would only do this to help motivate the heat to sign him earlier. I don’t see any reason as to why jimmy would want to leave here outside of not getting paid. This is not a disgruntled player situation, it’s a contract dispute.

  3. Tobin had a great point recently that all of the destinations (besides maybe Houston) he has listed would be ones to pay him. Warriors alr paying Steph, Dallas alr paying Luka and Kyrie, Suns alr paying KD and Booker. I think the destinations are real, but more so bc they would pay the man. If the Heat pay him then everything is fine

  4. Uuhm, maybe the guy is doing it behind the scenes. But its out there Barry, his friend Ernie is already blowing smoke and Jimmy’s agent went on a tirade against poor Shams. The matter of the fact is, this heat team needs to look inwards and figure out wtf they wanna do cuz this team isn’t making any noise

  5. Probably Jimmys camp putting on pressure playing mind games, Jimmy wants his money find it hard to believe he will opt out, doubt the nets will waste the cap space for a max Jimmy unless it’s a on cheap contract

  6. As a reminder last year Shams said there was no sense when Herro would return from injury and Herro called it cap and played the next week. He also said no other team would trade for a disgruntled Dame and that he would not report to training camp for anyone except Miami which was proven false.

Now he’s saying Jimmy wants to be traded to 4 teams but he won’t accept a contract extension from any of them.

I don’t think Shams makes any of it up, but his sources have objectives and will feed him a narrative that may not be fully accurate. It may be based on truth or a conversation but twisted or lacking context which I think is the case now.

  7. I think it is hilarious that some believe Shams is incapable of making shit up. He is this honest guy that has a spotless track record

  8. It is true Jimmy hasn’t asked to be traded.

    BUT

    1. He is using Bernie Lee to cause so much chaos commotion.
    2. Jimmy wore shoes matching the Phoenix Suns’ colors against the Raptors and the Golden State Warriors’ colors against the Pistons. It was exact colors. Not to mention the orange hair.
    3. In the Heat’s postgame interview after the game against the Raptors, Jimmy expressed deep gratitude for his agent, Bernie Lee, describing him as a brother for always having his back and for going back and forth with Shams. He concluded by saying, “*At least someone got my back*,” maybe hinting at feelings of hurt or disappointment from the Heat?
    4. During warm-ups before the Raptors game, Jimmy didn’t put on his Heat jersey until he absolutely had to, and he folded part of his shorts to conceal the Heat logo. Sound familiar? It’s eerily reminiscent of his time with the Timberwolves. We all know about the famous practice story. Back then, he cut the “Minnesota” off his practice jersey because he wanted out.
    5. Jimmy close friend, Ernny, on Twitter posted a photoshop photo of him in a Sun’s uniform.

I’m not saying he will be traded—I don’t believe he will. However, it’s clear he wants the Heat to pay him, and I can see him being willing to join another team in the offseason if they offer a good deal, even if it’s not a max contract, as leverage.
