Manchester United look likely to sign Sverre Nypan in January, and now Rosenborg are beginning to demand one thing of their 18-year-old talent.

The January transfer window for Ineos looks increasingly likely to be quiet, with no big deals expected. However, that does not mean no deals will be made.

Already we know Manchester United are close to one deal, with Paraguayan wonderkid Diego Leon expected to join in June after his 18th birthday.

This is a very exciting deal and one which perfectly encapsulates the transfer policy of Ineos – following the acquisition of Sekou Kone in the summer.

These types of deals are right up Jason Wilcox’s alley, with the technical director likely holding the cards due to Dan Ashworth’s exit. This means we can expect plenty more exciting youngsters.

Among those we can expect, is likely to be the Norwegian sensation Sverre Nypan.

So with the transfer window just under two weeks away, now United in Focus understand that Nypan’s club Rosenborg are now pushing the 18-year-old for a decision over his future.

“It’s coming to January now and his club are pushing him for a decision,” Graeme Bailey told United in Focus. “That is what I am hearing at the moment. Rosenborg are hoping for a breakthrough.

“Rosenborg want to know what’s happening.”

United in Focus can also reveal that the next couple of weeks are likely to see an outcome, with Rosenborg, led by Rasmus Hojlund’s former coach Alfred Johansson.

“They’re hopeful, I would expect something in the next couple of weeks. I imagine we will know by early January if he is going to move, which all indications are he will.”

Nypan is ready for Manchester United

Signing a player with the potential to dominate football is the new United way, after years of failed big-money moves which has left the Ineos cleaning up a mess.

However, not just any youngster is being signed.

United are going for top-of-their-class and country-leading talents, with Nypan seen as a generational talent.

Mentally though, Nypan is also ready. As Johansson has previously told TV2 in Norway.

“He focuses on enjoying playing football every day”, Johansson explained, praising the attitude of the now 18-year-old.

“It is very impressive, and that is how it should be, but not everyone could have done it. It is strong of Sverre.”
