Philly is his home. I’d kind of be shocked if he left.
I hope so. I’ll take 20 more years of Vic than any other D coordinator. Make him another Stoutland.
I’m gonna be a pedant here*… He’s a native of Dunmore. Also kinda weird that the article tries to posit that it is completely unusual that a guy from NEPA would like Philly teams.
*I’m a proud SWB native who hates when our people just get washed into Philly.
He’s 66, in his home, and doing well. I don’t think he leaves here on his own except to retire.
Where are all the people that hated this so much they called for Howie’s job?
Let’s just hope his stint in Denver as HC was enough to discourage him from wanting to try that again. Stay home, continue building a legendary defense for the ages. Most of the guys are all so young. It would be an easy way to add to his legacy as a defensive guru.
I hope and pray he’s got this same sentiment.
Didn’t he literally say a few months ago that”this is my last stop”?
I just assumed he had this job as long as he wanted it considering how much howie and jeffrey love running this style of defense. He’s right up there with stoutland to me. If either of these two ever went to another team, I would be very upset.
I was hoping we could keep both coordinators for more than 1 successful season.
I loved the Fangio hire and thought our D would make a meteoritic rise to….average. And then actually have a top 10 D next year.
Fangio is the fucking truth.
It better be. It’s been a while since we’ve had coordinators stay for more than a couple years because of poaching
Keep him at the negotiation table! And take copious notes on how his magic works.
if YOUD actually watch the conferences like he said at the beginning of the year, he told them that he would be here until they fire him. This was last stop before retirement.
This man completely turned the defense around in one offseason. Especially with him bringing in Zach Baun and helping him develop
Let’s hope.  Man only had a brief stint as a HC, maybe he wants one more crack at it.
Maybe he just settles into the DC role as a lifer and becomes the next big DC guru like Johnson was for us, or Labeau was for Pittsburgh.
Last stop or never has to leave. You can phrase it however.
I’m hoping for a Jim Johnson like career arc for him here.
Local guy. Ah man, that makes him even more admirable. Where’s he from, locally?
He’s here as long as Nick is for sure. If Nick gets fired in the future then it depends on what the incoming coach wants and if Vic wants to work for him. But Vic has no more HC aspirations and Nick is an offensive guy who is hands off with defense. He also has some pull with Nick and Howie. So this is pretty much the best job for him possible.
I could’ve sworn he already said this is his last stop before retiring
