  1. Teo

How about a 2 year / $55 million deal that can max out at $68 million over 3 years.

    SB: $10 M
    25: $20 M
    26: $20 M
    27: $15 M (TO w/ $5 M BO)

    No Defferals

Incentives for SS, AS, MVP, WS MVP, etc … maxed at $1 million per year.

This way, Teo gets the money he's looking for, and the Dodgers get a lower Team Option rate for year 3, when he could be a solid LHP platoon bat at the corners to help ease in their Top Prospect LH bats like DePaula, Rushing, and Hope, along with maybe a 2026 FA signing of Kyle Tucker.

  2. Muncy's defensive metrics at 2B look solid based on info at Baseball Reference and Fangraphs.

You would lose a bit of range vs. Lux, but a much stronger arm, and he catches what he gets to.

Plus, Muncy has said he prefers 2B defensively.

Also, the Dodgers have solid MI backup / late inning defensive options in Rojas, Edman, Freeland at AAA, and even Betts with the mentioned names taking the late inning reps at SS.

  3. I also wanna throw out there, because it's not mentioned almost ever, but Teoscar has an 83 sprint speed on savant for 2024. As bad as his defense is, he's not exactly slow.

  4. Another thought on LH Tanner Scott is that there are certain guys that have been on Andrew Friedman's radar for years, ala LH Blake Snell.

The Dodgers were even rumored to have been the runner-up to the Padres for Scott during the 2024 trade deadline.

If the Dodgers are good with the contract, years / dollars he's looking for, it might come down to whether or not Scott is looking for a guaranteed Closer job, rather than being part of a late inning 3 or 4 headed monster piece along with Treinen, Kopech, and Phillips that the Dodgers like to run out there to play the match up game.

  5. This is why I'm sad I missed the live show. I now have to air my responses to topics in comments to feel better…

Some clapback to those who push the whole "change of scenery will make them better again" for players like Arenado: they said the same thing about Belli, and what happened in his second year with the Cubs? The numbers were where they should've been despite some nice luck in his first year with the Cubs. And then the Cubs got stuck with buyer's remorse and traded him the following off season. Change of scenery only works with hitters who are coming out of pitcher's ballparks who have the metrics behind it to back it up. Like a Teoscar, and hopefully like a Conforto. Like Blake said: it doesn't effect your hard hit rate.

And why would the Cardinals trade him if they're willing to pay for most of his contract? The whole reason they want to move him is to NOT pay his contract. If you're paying 74M for Arenado AND Helsley, why not just pay Tanner Scott? Less 40man space.

  6. I'm surprised the Teo negotiations have dragged on this long. One thing is clear: The calls for "run it back" have been countered by the reality that MLB is a business.

  7. I 100% support Arenado on the Dodgers. Muncy will go to 2nd. Kike can platoon with him in late innings.

    4. T. Hernandez
    5. Muncy
    6. Arenado
    7. Conforto
    8. Smith
    9. Edmond

    We’ll be unstoppable!!!!
