One team has had consistently good drafts and player development to build serviceable depth.
The other had had Alex Learherwood, Damon Arnette…
One team has a quarterback that scores touchdowns. The other team does not.
This shows that we need to pay whatever it takes to steal the Bills’ strength and conditioning coach.
One has 2 star RB’s and can run the ball effectively. They also have Brock Bowers 1.0, and one of the best WR’s in the league. And as others mentioned, a QB that is balling out, and a coach that has better time/game management, and an OC that’s widely regarded as the best in the league, likely to take a HC job this season or next depending on whether or not Detroit ends up in/wins the Super Bowl.
I don’t blame AP, I don’t blame Getsy, I don’t blame Telesco, I don’t blame Mark, I don’t blame Minshew, I don’t blame AOC, and I don’t blame White. Who I do blame is Deuce Gruden.
The Lions have way more patience than the Raiders. They hired Dan Campbell and on his first season he went 3-13-1. They sucked that season but they played with heart and the team believed in him. The media and the fans bashed on Campbell. I personally want to have AP back but I would love to have the locker room decide. If he gets to stay, the first thing I would go do is hire a better offensive coordinator which one might say that why didnt he hire Kliff or someone competent. If you remember last offseason that there was no one left but Getsy, so really not much of a choice. I’d say give AP time and let them build the team they want to build.
And this isn’t even counting Koonce since he didn’t even get to start week 1.
This is why I get so confused why people would want Gruden back. He was the absolute worst at drafting in the early rounds. And I know there’s a group that always brings up Maxx Crosby in response to this fact. But damn, Ferrell, Abram, Mullen, Ruggs, Arnette, Hall, Leatherwood, etc. He really set us back with those drafts. That being said, I have faith in Telesco.
Yep, and it’s called dedication and coaching. Also, I would have to say they have been one of the better draft teams ever since the big trade. If the quarterback of our future is not the guy or isn’t there when we pick we should trade back in a mass pics and still get a blue chip lineman or cornerback or something we desperately need. We need to face fax and admit this is a full on rebuild. Just like the lion did.
Nice little gap year for our starters.
depth matters
Lions have a QB, RB, and OC. The Raiders do not.
That’s the difference.
Dang.
One has their QB and he hasn’t missed a game to my understanding. The other doesn’t have a QB and the best one they do have has often been injured.
