I’m getting nervous. Our pick is top 10 protected. Wouldn’t be shocked if John, or Collin are traded soon for good assets to improve the tank.
The 2023 Draft seems to be a W. Keyonte is legit, Taylor has potential even though he got a season ending injury 5 days into the season, and Brice has been playing phenomenal for a 28th overall pick, especially tonight’s game
Back to back wins? I think it’s time for Lauri to rest a bruised tibula or femurous or whatever and give Cody Williams a few starts
Walker is awesome. He does so many things that won’t show up on the stat sheet. You can see why the FO has such a high price on his services.
When JC plays the way we saw in the second half consistently, not forcing the shots, really looking to create pressure on defenses and not settling, and using that to make plays for others….that’s when he is at his best. He looks way more quick right now than he has all season. If he has quickness back, he’ll become tradeable. Hopefully he keeps this up. It makes him more fun to watch, makes him more effective for the team, and makes his trade value increase.
Lauri missed shots but the break(s) have helped him, he looks much more spry, but the big thing is that even though the last two he didn’t shoot great, he’s getting better shots and getting more shots with the team’s overall offensive structure having improved these two games. Now can they keep it up against a legitimate team.
Tank wise…not every game has to cause panic. They’ll be OK. We can and should celebrate good basketball and the growth of our young players.
Sexton is the pg clearly
God damn it, we gotta stop this winning!
Thanks for adding post game, I was out doing holiday stuff with my family
Awesome to see a professional performance to follow a win. Here’s my thoughts on the guys.
Lauri – Loved that he was taking loads of shots. Wasn’t efficient but I don’t mind, shot it way better in the second half. Was really good on the boards too.
John – Double double, another solid performance. The only surprise was he wasn’t efficient, went 0-3 from three and 3-6 from the line. Played at the 5 a bit as Walker had foul trouble, did well there scoring against Claxton for example.
Walker – Early fouls meant his minutes were lower than normal but did his job well. No big stats but his length and work are always useful. Sometimes he was guarding Simmons, other times Claxton.
Svi – Fantastic. Really difficult to come in after not playing a while to then perform like he has. 4 iconic Svi moves in total for 18 points in 20 minutes.
Collin – PG today and did well for the most part. Efficient from the field and was a nuisance on defense, coming up with 4 steals.
Jordan – A professional scorer. 16 and 8 off the bench is great, had a bad turnover early with a misplaced pass but from then on was brilliant.
Isaiah – Still turnover and foul prone, but was physical in his defense and moved the ball well. Positive impact on the floor, +11 in 16 minutes.
Drew – 9 minutes, hustled but nothing of note to comment on. Didn’t play second half from memory with Micah preferred.
Brice – Solid performance, his best game of the season by far. Did a little bit of everything today.
Johnny – Limited but every effective minutes. +12 in 12 minutes and knocked down an important three.
Micah – Stayed ready and made the most of his minutes. Also did a bit of everything, remember him coming on and knocking down a corner 3 which was important too. +11 in under 9 minutes shows you how the team played with him on the court.
Coach Hardy – Really nice out of bounds play for a Svi layup on a SLOB. Got T’d up after the refs ignored a Ben Simmons hook on John Collins. Distributed minutes well and went small ball at one time with Lauri as the 5. Spoke post game about getting Walker to guard differently so that it’s not the same all the time and he doesn’t go through the motions unintentionally. Also spoke about Isaiah and said he’s happy with his physicality + ball movement. Overall he’s leading the group really well.
Up against the Cavs just before Christmas… we aren’t going to win 3 in a row…….. are we?!
