  1. Pitching depth never hurts I guess? I hope this doesn’t mean we’re dealing Ranger though

  2. If he stays healthy we will have the best rotation in baseball. Even if he only stays healthy through the ASB Painter can come up and take his slot and we probably still have the best rotation in baseball. Nice move

  3. Luzardo has crazy stuff and throws hard. We haven’t seen his ceiling yet. He’s got #1 starter potential

  4. If we get the 2023 version of Jesus, I’m sold.

The 2024 injuries worry me a bit, but this would make our starting 5 arguably one of the best in all of baseball.

  5. like this a lot. i could totally see the Braves or Mets pulling a trade like this and he becoming a thorn.

  6. His 2022 and 2023 numbers aren’t bad if you’re looking at a #4/5 starter.

Not sure how good the two prospects are. Kinda whelming. But necessary.

  7. Imo this doesn’t mean a trade of Ranger is coming. He’s more valuable to the 2025 Phillies in our rotation vs the return he’d net as a 1yr rental.

  8. I’ll wait to see what we gave up before I judge, but i’m initially underwhelmed. Career ERA of 4.29, only has two seasons with 100 or more IP, an ERA+ of 103 (painfully mid) and a career WHIP of 1.2, which has been consistent even in his good years.

Caleb Cotham reclamation project, it seems. I just hope the price wasn’t too high.
