Javonte Williams leads the #Broncos in rushing with 485 yards followed by Jaleel McLaughlin (388), Bo Nix (352) and Audric Estime (252). They’re in line to not have a 600-yard rusher for first time since 2008 and only the second time since the start of the 1983 season.

  1. Remember when Twitter pundits tried to say Bo’s numbers prior to the Colts game were the result of being carried by the run game? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

  2. It’s really embarrassing how bad our running game is considering our o line is supposed to be good and contrary to the narrative it’s not like Bo is super inefficient

  3. It would be nice to have a consistent run game. It would also be nice for Payton to commit to it when it works. I wonder if an RB gets targeted in the draft. Hopefully one with some burst.

  4. If Estime didn’t fumble the ball two times early on, he would almost certainly have more but oh well. With that first TD, you could tell that he finally earned his keep. Also, I think this particular form of the Sean Payton offense is just not suited to one person getting all of the carries/catches. Maybe someone will shine vs. the Bengals but who knows. When I kept seeing Javonte run fast, stop completely, then hit a closed gap over and over and over again, I just have to wonder if it’s the fault of the O-line or just him.

My conspiracy theory is that it’s a rebuild year and this is how he assesses the future offensive structure of the team.

  5. We just giveaway our play calling given the personnel on the field far too often. If we have Javonte, it’s typically a pass. If we have McLaughlin, it’s typically a run.

I’d get Estime more involved with the passing game. He’s been our most consistent threat on the ground. He really needs to practice his pass protection though

  6. I’m not a football expert, but I feel like the constant rotating of 3-4 RBs prevents any kind of momentum/rhythm from being established

  7. I know everyone wants us to go after receivers… but if Judkins is there or we can trade back and still get him… I’m not against it.

  8. The defenses we’ve faced are doing something to stop our run game …. I just cant figure out what they figured out

  9. We’re still middle of the roadish in terms of yards per game and yards per carry. Not great but not bottom of the barrel. And his Saints teams had years like this as well. It’s pretty obvious we need better RBs though, we don’t have a game-breaker at that position, or really even a reliable guy. Riding the hot hand works for a while but it’s not sustainable

  10. I swear can they please draft RB, WR, and TE help! Its sad to see NIX literally lose the ROTY do to lack of talent!

  11. This is just Payton thinking he’s smarter than everyone else. Running back by committee never works for the team. It’s on him none of these guys are starting.

  12. I mean Williams needs 115 yards over 2 games. It’s not THAT unlikely. Not that it makes the stat any better.

  13. Definitely the reverse of the Shanahan era, when they pulled Tatum Bell away from a mall kiosk and he ran for 1,000 yards.

  14. Estime is the answer. He runs downhill while the other two lose all their momentum making moves before they even get to the line. He should have been getting 15+ touches for the past 5 games.
