  1. A Dodger fan here, and hate to lose Buehler, but he is a 2 time Tommy John surgery pitcher, it is a big gamble now, Dodgers did not want to take the risk, they are not dummies.

  2. I think the Red Sox and Alex Cora would be wise to start the season with a 6 man rotation this year given the injury history and lack of innings pitched in this rotation… it would help preserve Crochet, Houck, Kutter and Buelher to go the entire season

  3. Crochet, Buehler, and potentially Giolito are a good 3 punch. But I have little to no confidence in Houck, Bello and Crawford, as these 3 were absolute garbage after the all-star break. There's still a lot of meat on the bones of that supposed $700m "offer" to get Burnes. Plus, the Sox still need more BP help and another bat or two. Have to at least replace Tyler O'Neil numbers. Bregman and Teo would be great!

  4. Buehler signed for the amount of money he would have gotten had he been offered and accepted a QO.

I think he, of all people, is capable of excelling in Boston, and even elevating his day-to-day performance under that media market. If his intention was a pillow contract to re-establish himself for the next contract, he did as well as anyone could have expected in his situation. Nice high upside move for the Red Sox, the Dodgers were obviously not interested in bringing him back at that price.

  5. I'll hate to see Buehler in a different uniform but I think the Red Sox will be getting their money's worth, and more, this next season. His switch clicked on during the postseason and that will carry him through a big 2025. I wish him well.
