Someone try to tell me the extra muscle in the lineup isn’t giving them more room on the ice

  1. Honestly, it is just that the Devils are playing a very disciplined and structured D. This is more about supressing opponent offense than Hughes/Bratt/Hischier/etc. having more space. The better D is part system change and part 110% effort buy in. You see that in willingness to block shots, etc. Being better at wining board battles in the offensive zone is a secondary factor, which is part roster changes and bigger part buy in to their system.

  2. i’ll keep saying it, since the time of baby nico and then drafting jack this is the first time we have the perfect balance of physicality and finesse. It’s a great time to be a devs fan after all the darkness after 2012. Keefe has them BOUGHT in it’s very encouraging to see, i mean look at how physical bratt is now dudes killing penalties lol it’s really awesome to see.

  3. I’m really liking Dillon and Kovacevic on the blue line bringing that physicality. Same with the addition of Cotter on the checking line. Not mention, having the option to play MacDermid is another element to the physicality.

This team is so balanced right now and it’s been great to watch.

  4. Just finishing checks all around can make a big difference on the ice. Its nice to see that an d more
