Oh wait it wasn't Laine, it was GM Don Waddell 4 months ago!
"Newly minted Columbus Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell believes his new team needs a culture change in order to be successful going forward.
“The one thing is, I’m not saying it was everybody, but losing was acceptable [here] and losing is not acceptable,” Waddell told SiriusXM NHL Network Radio on Thursday. “We have a ways to go building this, but our goal every year should be to win the Stanley Cup, not just win some games.
“It’s a mindset. I believe what happened last year, talking to everybody, things didn’t go well and they had a lot of injuries at the beginning of the year and fell out of the race pretty quick. [Then] they just kind of played out the season and we have to change that.” "

Are we still doing this
Pal, please go back to the Habs subreddit
I think the key difference here is that Laine was here, part of the problem, and did not want to be part of the solution, and Waddell wasn’t here and is trying to be part of the solution.
This guy thinks Laine’s shoulder was targeted by the entire team, but Rempe is just being punished for having tall elbows. Give your balls a tug.
Can we stop talking about this loser
Accept that he got the ass-whooping that was coming to him, be grateful that Olivier didn’t get his hands on him, and move on. Merci beaucoup! 😁
Bro can you Habs fans give it a rest? Enjoy the holidays…
Bro is a Habs fan anyway. Nothing to see here move along
And then he got rid of the undesirables…including Laine.
Its different.
It’s amazing how blind you Montreal fans are when you want to be.
Yeah, Waddell said it. Well done, you have proven you can read. Great job.
Here’s the thing… Laine wanted out. Fair enough. He vetoed a trade to a winning team (Minnesota) to go to another losing team (Montreal). If he cares that much about a winning culture, why go to a rebuilding team that is, at best, on the same level as CBJ? Or is it simply that he doesn’t care about winning and just wanted to live in Montreal instead of Minneapolis, even if that meant wasting two more years of his career doing nothing?
And then he said if fans boo they have issues. You’d think a dude with, ya know, actual issues might be sensitive to that and not say that. Hard to feel sorry for him when he’s making a joke about people having underlying issues.
Laine has quit on two teams already. Doesn’t sound like a winning mentality to me.
It’s the hypocrisy. Not that hard to understand.
“The one thing is, I’m not saying it was everybody, but losing was acceptable [here] and losing is not acceptable,”
Laine was the one traded so he must’ve been the one who thought it was acceptable to lose.
Asking for proof?
He never went back into the game after the 1st period because he decided avoiding hits was more important than winning and then his team proceeded to lose
Go back to the Habs/Rangers sub you fucking duster
Friend there is a giant difference between bringing in new GM to head a change in the organization and player coming back and shitting on his former teammates. If you can’t see that that’s your problem.
Are you stupid?
> The last major change the Blue Jackets made to help rectify the situation was bring in Dean Evason as head coach, replacing Vincent.
Have fun with your new coach after they fire MSL for another underperforming season.
What was the other big thing that changed about the team right before he said this?
> Laine traded to Canadiens by Blue Jackets for Harris
That was August 19th. This article was August 23.
Think hard here.
