Because much like everything else on cbs, they have inaccurate information.
Don’t ever expect a corporation to take the clever option.
inb4 Tepper being crazy enough to actually change the Panthers to the Reapers
We trademarked it with the money we never used for the Fire Shula banner.
Pretty sure it’s trademarked
You guys know the origin of Carolina Reaper right?
Ed Currie, down in Fort Mill, SC bred the hottest pepper and got in the Guiness Book of World Records for it. He then beat it, twice, with two other peppers he bred.
Anyway, Carolina Reaper is a trademark belonging to old Ed. CBS is probably gonna play it safe there.
Bryce in his villain arc he was fed up with people talking shit about him haha I love it
To those of you saying “Carolina Reaper” is trademarked—it’s true, but it’s also kind of misleading.
You can trademark words for certain use cases. If you scroll through this after searching “Carolina reaper” you will see the various trademarks across different companies and use cases. There are clothing brands, hockey gear, obviously peppers/seeds etc etc.
But I don’t see anything covering the use of nicknames on the list
They didn’t call us the Grim Reapers. They said we would be playing the Grim Reaper. The Grim Reaper is a character. The Carolina Reaper is a pepper.
