For the Mets fans on here … this is giving me flashbacks to the John Mayberry Jr. cleanup lineup. Only that Mets team ended up turning it all around and going to the World Series.

I’m pretty sure this is when we had a ton of injuries. But the team healthy wasn’t exactly that good either. Although I still miss Coleman a lot
Seeing this lineup card did psychic damage to me. Blake Pietila? Egor Yakovlev moving up to forward from defense? The corpse of Cory Schneider as backup? Dark ages indeed…
Playing our high draft picks (as you can see Hischier here) in the top 6 while we were terrible is paying dividends now. They spent all of those rebuilding years playing against other top forwards/defense. While the Rangers constantly buried Kakko and Laf in the bottom 6 while signing mid 30s forwards to play the top 6. Iron sharpens iron!
