In reference to the thread a week ago about Noah I… not bad

  1. Don’t know that he’s as good as his ranking on this list would indicate, but he’s been plenty solid. There’s a reason BSJ went to the bench instead of Noah I.

He’s a former first round pick who didn’t even survive his rookie contract with his original team. He made a couple stops and now, while he’s not the star you’d hope for from a first round pick, he’s a bonafide starter in the slot. Not bad at all.

Maybe he needed a “change of scenery” or more accurately coaches who could recognize how to merely use him to his strengths instead of expect him to do it all.

Separate but parallel, this is the type of guy who sometimes comes to mind when I think about Emmanuel Forbes or even Jamin Davis. They got drafted in the first round because there’s something there. Maybe it’s not stardom and they certainly got over drafted. But a lot of first-round “busts” actually have solid value so long as they get asked to do what they’re best at instead of being expected to be a stud.

  2. No disrespect to Noah; I think he’s been an upgrade even if he’s far from elite.

But, my goodness…. What a pants-on-head dumb way to rank defensive backs.

  3. The statistic is a little confusing. Does yards “when nearest defender” mean the yards the receiver gains after the catch before tackle or yards from scrimmage after the tackle? (If the second, the stat seems to favor slot receivers and LBs/safeties in shallow coverage over the middle).

  4. Yards per route is a better metric and he’s 6th in league. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that teams throw to St Juste so much he doesnt get targeted as much .

  5. So what does this mean for chase? I still expect chase to get 25+ pts in a ppr league

  6. I just looked this up and im surprised he only has 4 dpi calls and 2 holding calls. It feels like he gets a flag a game.

  7. He’s been solid.. nothing crazy also nothing to say oh my god. He’s worth keeping around
