A playoff series between these two teams would be nasty. Wish the Devils got to play them more than 4 times in a season (and for the officiating to not be absolute cheeks).

If the refs had any pride, they’d remember Necas making them suckers. Instead they’ll probably remember Cotter bringing notice to it
Idk man, necas seemed pretty injured. I bet he’ll be out for months.
Just like the fans, the players are also completely classless
2 players laying on the ice like their career ended just to barely miss any playing time (if any at all)
I am so so glad we don’t have to play them until at least April, playing this team and dealing with their fans might actually be worse than dealing with rangers fans yelling “little brother” over and over when they’re down 3-0
Canes are pathetic and their fans have no clue what’s going on. Chanting that the refs suck when the Devils got 0 PPs last night from last nights crew and were gifted a game by tonight’s crew. Necas should gain a bad rep after the crap he pulled tonight.
If I may make an assessment of the Canes fan base: they don’t really know the game.
If a Cane levels an opposing player, big cheers… if a Cane gets leveled it’s a penalty and “REF YOU SUCK”. They think it’s okay to slash the stick out of another player’s hands… whaaaat??

I know that you can hit your shin/leg/elbow/knee/nose into things hard enough that it will hurt like hell for a few minutes after which you’re back to normal so I don’t want to accuse Necas of faking it because I don’t think he did. What I do want to do is blame the refs for giving Meier five and a game for what looked to be just “well I guess the other guy is broken now, can’t not kick the other dude out” which isn’t what they *should* base the penalties on.
Explain to me how the hit was so bad that it warranted a 5 and a game yet neither ref blew their whistle when the hit occurred. If it was bad enough that Meier had to be tossed how did both of you guys miss it when it happened?
