I wanna keep him
Rex Ryan flip-flop king yesterday he picked Packers to win.
And that's why he's on ESPN and not a coach. Vikings sign Darnold for $40m-$50m/year for multiple years and they're doomed. We just got out from under Kirk's contract to get better on defense just to get tied into another Kirk-like contract. And let's not forget, we don't get AVG, Greenard, and Cashman if we made the mistake of extending Kirk.
Finally, a successful USC QB!
Loving this locker room moment!
They should sign Darnold then trade him and get picks
Slinging Sammy Darnold, AKA America’s quarterback!!!
Don’t pay him until he get to nfc championship if not go to jj
He still seeing ghosts?
When K.O.C said Sam best football is ahead of him I felt that
They give him a big contract and he plays badly next year all of you will be saying different.
I love the design.
It’s called 3 phases Vikings offense/ Defense/ is legit the special teams is not hopefully the kicker doesn’t cost them to lose in the playoffs.!!
Keep Sam AND JJMC!! Sam is the PERFECT bridge for a promising young rookie!!
hasnt rex ryan leanred from elite qb daniel jones? vikings would be foolish to sign him to a long term deal after one good season. tag him and if he repeats this year's performance then sign him to a baker contract like 2-3 years at 120 with 80 guaranteed. while jj is under the rookie contract and intent on starting playing him in 4th year to see how he does to pick up his 5th year or extend him.
I love hearing about a bad QB finding a home, unless it’s Dan on ESPN riding on someone else’s coattails.
Green Bay was never HOT through this game. stat padding ender
He won't walk out. Franchise tag him and see him play the same or better next year, then pay the man long term.
Darnold's 10M contract had a guarantee he would start the entire year with "a" draft pick filling in when needed but not starting.
Rex Ryan didnt believe in Sam Darnold and he chuckled and laugh earlier in mid-season when he was asked if Darnold should be MVP, it feels weird seeing him praising Darnold now. Stick to your take Rex
If sam lose in the playoffs. The fans will be off him.
I love what Sam darnold doing I'm so happy for him but I hate orlovsky and he's going to take credit for all of his success acting like he always knew what he was going to be.
They have to try to extend Darnold and trade Mccarthy to a QB needy team for a nice draft haul. Giants could be an option since they fell out of the top 2.
Rex is a joke talked crap all year on Sam now’s he’s on the ban wagon
Two year contract, 3 will be to disheartening for JJ
I get why they not extending him right away.
Christian ponder…. Kirk cousins…. won 13 games etc
Vikings are getting steam now they have been ignored all season F all these clowns in the sports media they want to pretend like they have noticed Darnold and the Vikings when the exact opposite is true
The viking are gonna have some hard decision all around
Keep JJ and develop him
Espn please take down that. Aaron Rodgers jet Jersey…
Just to make it more fun. Let's throw Sam darnold up there!
I agree with twinkle toes!
Trade JJ to the Jets for that pick and build the team around Sam
I loved seeing KOC admire the lockerroom celebration before his speech
They wanna see the playoffs results, but even then, I think Darnold getting a 2 year 65 million dollar deal would be amazing if MN could pull it off.
one of the worst QBs in NFL history out here critiquing guys… makes no sense
Nah this ain’t right jj deserves a chance let darnold prove it wasn’t a fluke somewhere else
Let's see how he performs in the playoffs then decide how to re-sign him. There's a reason you're on TV and not coaching Rex. I trust 4 day old gas station sushi more than I trust your take.
I'm team JJ and nothing will change that view except a SB but I'm not longer out on keeping Darnold around for another year.
but so much of our team sucks and that’s what we wanted to spend our money on. i can’t go another year with stephon gilmore and trash IOL
Sam Darnold provea there's no such thing as a "bad" quarterback in the NFL. Just bad programs and teams that don't support their qb's and work with their strengths. Even the "worst" NFL quarterback is better than 99.999 percent of world at playing football and by a wide margain
I do have to wonder if Kirk cousins would be doing just as good in this situation. He played incredibly well in his time with the Vikings
Trade JJ, no reason to keep him. Darnold is 27. Trade him get some picks and retool.
It makes pretty logical sense for them to keep him. I mean, they acquired a 30 year old Kirk Cousins and had him all the way until this year and he’s 36 and if I remember correctly, they intended on keeping him until he left and then we have Sam here who’s 27 they can sign him for at least 3 years off the strength of that logic alone, the man has pulled an achievement that no other Viking QB has and will possibly elaborate more on that very achievement depending on how the Lions game goes
Remember Case Keenum who also had one good season with the Vikings.
I say they sign him to a two year deal, since jj might not even be ready next year, due to the torn acl. Let him heal up and see what darnold can do.
Wait Datnold is only 27? I thought he was at least 30. He's having a franchise year and is hitting his physical prime. Hes definitely a starter in this league, hopefully for the Vikings
You also drafted mark sanchez so idk
Sam is home
Dan equals 🧢
They'll try to re-sign him but why not let him play out his contract and possibly win a SB first.. he'll get paid way more for winning a SB; how many times does a QB get a new contract and then suck it up?
