Wk 17 PFF Grades

  1. Riley Moss had a very tough assignment. Bengals offense is so well designed to take what you give them and if everyone is gonna give help to covering Chase, then Higgins it is. Also Burrow is just a cheat code the way he can turn a perfectly covered play into 7-8 yards by fitting it in a window 4 inches wider than the football.

Also I’ve held for a long time, PFF scores should come with a giant disclaimer. Tillman being that high and Allen being down in the pack is not really usable information unless you’re a coach who is also watching each one of the plays.

  2. Idk how anyone could be upset about Moss, he was in a tough situation coming off the injury. The radio broadcast made it clear that they were attacking him from the beginning. I didn’t get to watch but it sounded like Burrow and the receivers just made some outstanding plays when he was pressured.

  3. How does Zach Allen get a 71.3 on Pass Rush in a 3.5 sack game? I don’t think it’s because he sandbagged the rest of the game. Dude was in there all the time.

  4. We need a rd 1 TE so bad. Surely we have the worst TE room in the league. Can you imagine Bo having his own Kelce, Bowers, Kittle to convert 3rd and 6s to for the next decade?

  5. Our secondary has fallen apart since the Cleveland game. Everyone this season is getting burned by the Bengals WRs, but damn Higgins tore Moss UP. Surtain II is a constant wall against his assignment, but its a huge drop off after that.

  6. I think lately we’re seeing a lot of the depth issues brought about by the dead Russ money.

  7. Cody Barton is good. I don’t get why everyone is always ragging on him in here. Strnad has really fallen off for some reason.

  8. Honestly looks like Moss should have stayed on IR for at least another week. He did t look right out there

  9. McMillian’s slide this year from last year is really surprising to me. I remember him making so many unexpected plays last year and he just seems a step behind this year

  10. Seeing Jaleel so high up is frustrating. He has clearly been the hot hand at RB when healthy, yet we refuse to keep giving to him. I’m under no delusion that he’s an every down back or work horse, but we have to feed the hot hand and keep the run game relevant if we want to win games

  11. I don’t need PFF to tell me the offense’s grade. It wasn’t very good. Payton isn’t being creative at all. It’s a basic offense that’s predictable. It seems he’s content with trying to lull the defense to sleep with all the screens then going for the bomb a few times a game. I don’t think he has much faith in his offensive players. I also don’t see Denver exploiting opponents the way they exploit our defense. No attacking weaknesses. Just running the same plays over and over. The Bengals have a crappy defense. You wouldn’t know it by our offense’s struggles to sustain drives against them.

  12. What infuriates me is McLaughlin was having a great game and would’ve broke 100 yards rushing. I’m tired of the running back by committee.
