Dolphins Playoff Hopes Remain Alive | Miami Dolphins vs. Cleveland Browns Postgame Recap & Takeaways

Dolphins vs. Browns recap as the Miami Dolphins playoff hopes remain alive following their 20-3 win on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. In order to make the NFL Playoffs, the Dolphins need to win next week against the New York Jets while also having the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Denver Broncos.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was held out against the Browns due to a hip injury and his status for Week 18 is currently uncertain. Filling in for Tagovailoa was Tyler Huntley who threw a touchdown pass to Jonnu Smith while also adding another score on the ground.

Has Terron Armstead played his final snap as a member of the Miami Dolphins? The veteran left tackle left Sunday’s game with a knee injury and was replaced by Patrick Paul who had his hands full with Myles Garrett.

Despite Tagovailoa and Jaylen Waddle being held out, Tyreek Hill topped the century mark in receiving yards while the De’Von Achane and the Dolphins run game couldn’t get started.

Calais Campbell and Tyrel Dodson paced the Dolphins defense as Anthony Walker’s unit held the Browns to just three points. Dodson recorded his second interception of the season and led the Dolphins with a team-high 15 tackles.

The Dolphins playoff chances got a little better with their win over the Browns, but there’s more work to be done and plenty of questions remain regarding the health of Tua Tagovailoa. Stay tuned as we’ll continue to provide the latest Dolphins news heading into their regular-season finale next week against the Jets!

  1. I thought Huntley looked more relaxed in offense. We may have found an ILB next to Brooks. Dodson was all overvthe place. We still are an undisciplined football team. To many penalties. My take from game their was a lot of chatter about miami settling for Huntley as #2 QB next year. But he looked pretty good to me.Jets fans are already talking how they can move up draft next week. It will be met life takeover next week. Our problem is chiefs have nothing to play for.

  2. Sign extension to Dodson NOW, with the chinstrap to his helmet permanently affixed.
    Sign Brooks too.
I’m glad we won but the quality of play from our OL just won’t cut it against the Top teams of the league. Jones, E-burg, and Smythe need to go. Amen to the replay issues!

  3. My game ball goes to Snoop. He exceeded my expectations in this game. Was that his ceiling or floor? Thats the better question. Bring back Snoop, Dodson, Calais Cambell.

Guys we need to move on from Smyth, rob jones, eichenburg, duke Riley, poyer, Holland, Mostert, Armstead, kendall fuller, Julian Hill, Skylar Thompson, Chubb and please fire the special teams coach. If we can trade hill for good value plz do.

My question is would you take a 3rd round pick for Weaver? If he gets a HC job we get a 3rd round pick bc he is minority

  4. I am happily eating crow …2 weeks ago I said the Dolphins had zero chance of making the playoffs. Turns out, the ineptness of so many other teams has allowed the Dolphins to remain in the playoff hunt, so let's get another win and get in!

  5. Ok that was a great win but I still say the Jets win our last game and the Broncos win against a Chiefs backup team. But if I'm wrong and Miami gets to the playoff the only thing that'll make it worthwhile is that we beat the Bills in their own back yard. Other than that it'll just be more embarrassment of "Who's your daddy. We own you". And I don't need anymore of that.
